  • Good draft TT

    1 5 Hawk, A.J. OLB 6-1 247 STUD
Thats all you really need to say about Hawk. His only drawback that I can see from watching his games is he is a little short
2 47 Colledge, Daryn OT 6-4 298 I guess he fits our scheme I think we could have gotten him with a lower pick but I guess he plays nasty.
2 52 Jennings, Greg WR 5-11 196 I would rather have Stovall but I guess this guy is polished and ready to play in the NFL from what I have read.
    3 67 Hodge, Abdul ILB 6-0 235 STEAL!!!!
Wow now all you Barnett Haters will see a new MLB on the Pack. I cant believe we got him in the 3rd! More tackles than Greenway not ideal sized but will fit nice behind Jenkins and Pickett.
3 75 Spitz, Jason C 6-3 304 I guess he is just NASTY!!! Love it grit and fire on our line.

Over all the 1st day I wish we would have taken Stovall with the last 3rd rounder but we need OL. Hodge is going to be a solid LB and this draft turned one of our biggest weaknesses into a strength.

I think we need to address the WR with one more pick atleast. Backups at DE and QB aswell.

Feels like we are getting meaner and more 'footballish'. I love the trade for Walker. A second rounder is VERY nice considering that Miami only traded a 2nd for a franchise QB.
Swede: My expertise in this area is extensive. The essential difference between a "battleship" and an "aircraft carrier" is that an aircraft carrier requires five direct hits to sink, but it takes only four direct hits to sink a battleship.

I lost track with all the trading, etc. Where are we in picks right now? What do we have coming up tomorrow?

What did we start with vs. what we have now?

We traded our original 36 for 52 and 93 (and then parlayed 93 for 104 and a later round pick). We then traded Walker for 37 (and then parlayed that for some additional 3rd round picks with our 139). Basically, we traded our #2 and Walker (plus a 139) for more picks. That gives us 11 total.

        We started with a 1, 2, 3, 4, 2 5's and a 7. We made one pick on round 1, 2 on round 2, and 2 on round 3. Tomorrow we have 2 4's, 2 5's, a 6 and a 7. Talk about loaves and fishes!

          YES SIR!!!

When my dad said we picked Abdul I was just like NO WAY!!! There's just NO FREAKIN WAY we get a player like Hodge in the third! But somehow he fell to 67. He seems like a "packer person." So does Hawk (and Jennings, but this post is about linebackers). Hodge, like Hawk, is a leader, an intense competitor, a hard hitter, and has a motor that doesn't stop.

I wonder how Ben Taylor would feel about the thought of being benched in favor of two rookies?

I may have to make a banner of it.
