Most Overrated Coach

I completely agree. He had a ridiculously talented roster and a coaching staff that IMO was unrivaled in the history of the NFL. Granted, he should get credit for assembling that tremendous staff...but that probably takes away somewhat from his "coaching genius" then when you factor in the help he had.My signature has NUDITY in it...whatcha gonna do?

I think its pretty cool that Lombardi has the high average of wins for the amount of games played.Originally posted by Carolina_Packer>>Bill Cowher has to be the most overrated coach. He always put out tough teams which I dig, but the guy had a lot of average years. He won 1 super bowl in 15 years, and only got to two. Holmgren accomplished the same amount in less time in GB, yet he isn't looked at in the same realm of greatness as Cowher. I just don't get it.
The one thing I would trust Cowher with is being patient enough to rebuild a team. He seems to be very skilled at developing players and doesn't seem to complain when the rooney's don't throw him FA or trade up (for punters) for a particular player in the draft.<<
Well, here's a list of all-time coaches and Cowher and Holmgren are 15 and 16 all time on this list. Cowher's number of wins in 15 years was pretty good. Nobody can be expected to be good every single year of a 15 year career (so far, I think he'll be back at some point). He was pretty darn consistent, so I don't think I'd call him overrated. It's not easy winning all those games. Disclaimer, I don't follow the Steelers, nor would I consider myself a Steelers apologist by any means; just give Cowher his props.

The only other that is close is Madden and he coached for one year less.

Phil Jackson. All those titles are because of Jordan and Shaq. Oh, wait, are we talking football?
