I was at a NYE party in SF during this game. Another GBP fan and I were in the den while the party was raging in the other part of the house. Slowly, more and more people starting coming into the den to find out what the hootin and hollerin ws all about. Some of these niner fans couldn't understand why we cared so much about winning a game that would take us to a mediocre 8-8 record. Its the bears, baby. Thats all you need to know!!
Observations & predictions:
(1) Favre is incredible on the move. With a cleaned up ankle, and still a suspect line in front of him, Favre will roll-out a lot this year...effectively.
(2) Favre (and all of us) will miss #30 this season. Great runner, great receiver, great safety valve.
(3) KGB with a chip on his shoulder this season and fresh 3rd down legs will post double-digit sacks this season.
(4) In improved DL (hopefully with impact from Harrell) will lead to big increase in Big Plays by our secondary (despite Schottenheimer's continued presence).
(5) Grossman sucks; Griese Sucks; and after further review, the bears still suck!!! :P
Didn't Nick Collins have a knee injury that slowed him for much of the season? I thought it was an ACL or LCL or something. It happened around the 4th or 5th game? ? ? ?
He looked aggressive and dominate against Chicago. He was that way against NO and Reggie Bush too. At some point he was slowed, I'm pretty sure of that.
He had a back and hamstring too. Damn, hard to gauge a guy who was slowed that much. He makes it to every game, there is just a difference between 100% and 80%.
Ahman Green will definitely be missed, he looked awesome that game. Mo looked good to, but he usually only does good when he has space. Their could be no were to go and Green would get something. I hope he does great in Houston.
I like Ahman, so I can understand that sentiment. But there's already enough unrest in Packerland, and Ted needs to be right on this so that things don't get uglier. For me, it's enough that Ahman got his big paycheck. On the field, I hope he's completely out of gas.
If Morency or Jackson proves to be the answer, they can all succeed and the Turtleites can bask in being right on this one
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER
If Morency or Jackson proves to be the answer.............
If Jackson breaks out next year (2008), it'll be too late for Ted. You guys will have already strung him up.
And that's why I want Ahman to stink this year. His legacy is already secure in Green Bay.
Wist will hang him out there because he's written Morency off already, but for me either Morency or Jackson or the combo needs to illustrate that we didn't need to keep Ahman or look for something better.

Just remember, you can string Ted up. But there is no guarantee that the new guy will be any better. And starting all over is almost always painful - at least for the first year or so.

You are absolutely right there; I do remember Tom Braatz and Bart Starr as GM's. Draft wise TT is far far superior to them for sure.
