Damn glad to see ya Dabaddestbear ! I have been reminding this lot that Da BEARS own the NFCN ! I am still standing in this sea of cheese, waiting for Da BEARS to unleash another run to the SB !
Ease up? Ya know Bearman, I've never been to a Bears, Lions, or Vikings message board. Never found the reason to go...

We had a 14 year run, you'll get 3 or 4 most likely, enjoy... We'll be back soon enough.
14 year run of what? Dreams of what if?

Does that change the fact that as of now, the Bears are in LAST place in the NFC North?

My guess is that we won't hear from Bearman or dabaddestbear for a little while.

BTW, congrats on your win...........even though it was minus Ron Mexico. :P

Mexico sucks.....then again so does Harrington. Either way, win is a win weather it's because of muffs of harringtons....

Your guess is wrong. Just got in from watching the Game at the sports bar. It was a good game full of Defense and sprinkles of offense...lol.
As much as I wanted the Bears to win the lost isnt as bad since I feel the team played pretty well. The turnovers killed the Bears and kept giving up great field position to the Chargers. It was bound to end up turning into scores eventually.

Rex played ok. and the Defense pretty much stopped LT from running...now if they could have only stopped him from passing it would been a much better day for Bear fans.

I was impressed with the NFC north overall. I was watching all the games and saw some good defense being played by the Vikings and Packers, and good offense by the Lions. I am not worried about the Bears first lost, I predicted it ( just thought Rex was going to be the cause of it). They will start to run the table next week as some of you over zealous Packer fans see what this team is really about.

Good luck during this season......umm, not really, but it sounded good ending my post that way....lol.

Did you even watch the game? Brutal defensive standstill in the second half. 3 points for each team. Defenses punching the opposing QB in the mouth. Both Favre and McNabb were harrassed all day. The first team that made a mistake was going to lose. That team was the Eagles. If the defense didn't play so well (against one of the best offenses in the league with all of their players healthy), it wouldn't have come down to the muff. If the Eagles didn't have the muff, the Packers still had a good shot at winning the way the Packers defense was playing.

Last two minutes. You might want to read the entire exchange in the thread to get my point.

edit: Either way, sounds like the Packers played a great defensive game. Are you denying the two special teams turnovers (which are great and congrats) weren't the difference?

Maybe. Maybe not. Are you saying that the Eagles would have definitely won the game without the muffs?

Maybe Ras wasn't saying it, but I will.

Those muffs led directly to 10 points that I don't know how we would have scored otherwise, given how the offense was playing.

Possibly, but when you get an early TD like that, you don't know how the game will play out. The way our defense was playing at the end, there was a good chance that one of the offenses was going to make a mistake and turn the ball over. Could have been us. Could have been them. Like I said, you can take plays out of the game, and think that the results would be different. Just like if one of those two or three interferences on Driver had been called, maybe it's a different game. They weren't. You keep playing. In the end, the game was tied 13-13 through the 4th quarter, and I think both teams deserved to be in that position with tremendous defensive play. Philly blinked first.

Of course, we're talking in hypotheticals here based on things that didn't happen, so anything is possible.

But from my observations, the defenses were about even and the Eagles' offense was marginally better. They managed to drive a little bit and they scored a TD, whereas our run game went nowhere and Favre had unfriendly company in the backfield all day long.

Obviously I can't deny that our special teams were better, but it was more luck than skill in getting two muffs and coming up with both fumbles at the bottom of the pile.

With all the pass-rush pressure on Favre, I think we would have blinked first if our offense had to gain the field position to win as opposed to being handed the field position to win it.

That being said, I'm enjoying the win, and I hope they make some adjustments and improvements as the season goes on.

With all their injuries on offense and their performance on defense, the Giants are looking like a nice draw next week.
