On a scale of 1-10, 1 being not worried at all and 10 being really worried, I'm about a 4 on Greg Jennings. He just hasn't done much. I really hope he comes around for the start of the season. We need our WR's to be a strength this year if we are going to move the ball. He has been our #1 WR and our #1 is covered by Harris so that might have something to do with it, I don't know.

It will be nice to see them in pre-season but like Rastak so eloquently pointed out, we're just going to be disappointed by that becuase it's all base defense.
Oh, lemme clarify. Your reports from camp are cool, and I'm sure you are having a blast doing it. Interesting info can be gleaned. Once those pre-season games start you get a better picture becasue it's a live game situation. People need to be careful because like you mentioned mostly base stuff plus your favorite rookie might be playing the 2nd or 3rd string opponent. The pace is a bit slower than a real game. My other thread was mearly pointing out how some things seem to be weighted higher than others. Regular season games being the highest ranked ...
Hey, let's go though the steps and see how all the guys looked. The Vikings defense looks fantastic right now but I'm afraid it's because their offense totally sucks......LOL

Yea, I'm totally fired up to go to the Vikings Rams game next Friday....but into the 4th quarter I won't know a guy on the field.
Assuming the bridges hold.....check out CNN....a bridge over the river near the dome collapsed into the river with bumper to bumper cars. Maybe 20 cars into the river and maybe 100 on the bridge as it happened. Unreal pictures.

Nick, I'm not worried at all. Just an observation on a couple of plays. He could have been gassed for all I know.Originally posted by JustinHarrellOn a scale of 1-10, 1 being not worried at all and 10 being really worried, I'm about a 4 on Greg Jennings."There's a lot of interest in the draft. He hasn't stood out at all, all camp though Harv. I've watched most of the practices in person and I think I've only seen him catch one ball in team drills. That said, he's been going up against Harris almost every play so that might have a little something to do with it.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

He beat Harris on one of those two plays they showed tonight. He looked like he wasn't running a crisp route, but got open enough and ended up makign the catch. As far as I know, he could have intended running that route that way to fake Harris into a certain coverage. The GBP showed him going 2 for 2 against Harris in the last practice., so he must be doing something right.Originally posted by JustinHarrellHe hasn't stood out at all, all camp though Harv. Jennings is not a superstar. Too many people on here seem to think the guy is already a dependable, reliable player. He is not.Originally posted by JustinHarrellOn a scale of 1-10, 1 being not worried at all and 10 being really worried, I'm about a 4 on Greg Jennings. He just hasn't done much. He took advantage of some early games against woeful pass defenses last year. He also took advantage of opposing defenses focusing nearly their entire game plan against Driver, and allowing Jennings to have the chance to beat them. He got nicked up, and really did not contribute much after that.
He doesn't have the raw speed to be a deep threat, and he doesn't have the strength of a Jones to consistently beat press coverage. He runs solid routes and has good hands, but he needs to take a step forward before he is a reliable starting WR. As I've said all along...he should have been no more than a #3 WR last year. He did OK for having to fill in as the #2, but he's a very average #2 WR.
IMO, Jones has more physical potential than Jennings has.My signature has NUDITY in it...whatcha gonna do?

I don't understand something: why is it that whenever this team we love does something well, it's only because the opponent is woeful. Evidently we had the easiest schedule in the history of football last year because all the games we won at the end of the season were against sucky teams and now every game that Greg Jennings performed well in it was because we were playing woeful pass defenses? Come on, people. These are still NFL teams we're playing against. There are other teams besides the Colts that have talented players. IMO we're one of those teams so can we give some credit where it is due while we're drowning our team in criticism please?"Greatness is not an act... but a habit.Greatness is not an act... but a habit." -Greg Jennings

If you expect more from a rookie WR than we received from Jennings, you are going to be disappointed in 99% of all rookie WRs. It is a very difficult position to play in the WCO. The route you run can change within the first .1 sec after the hike. You have to recognize and react by the way the defense reacts. And it is not just the secondary's coverage, you have to recognize a blitz and change to your hot route.Originally posted by The LeaperJennings is not a superstar. Jennings looked very good. Too many people just look at 40 speed and size in order to determine the 'quality' of a WR. More important to a WR success is quickness, route running skills, and hands. Jennings has more of these qualities than most NFL WRs. Add to that his love of football, being a good teammate, intelligence, and being a hard worker, the sky is the limit for this young man.

Bubba looks in very good shape.
Harrell doesn't look in bad shape with the pads on. Pickett looks huge. He needs to get in shape. Harrell got stoned on one 1 on 1. The other he pushed the street FA OC back 2 yards right off the snap. Looks like a specimen. Has a lot to learn.
Kampman beat Tausch on a pass rush drill--despite what Bill Maas said.
Montgomery beat Moll on the drill.
They showed a couple of clips of Morency and Jackson from early practices. Can't take much out of it since they weren't in pads, but both guys have extremely quick feet.
Jennings actually looked a little sluggish to me on one play.

Too big of a circle for me to follow BHOriginally posted by BallHawkWell said, MJ.
Anyways, I consider Jennings to be very capable of a #2 starter if he remains healthy. I also see him having more upside than the rook, but haven't seen enough of him yet.TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Are you admitting that we have a big concern with our running game?
What WR's (disregarding Greg Jennings and DD ) are looking on the upside to you so far?
Who runs solid routes, looks fast or beats the DB's? How is James Jones looking underneath? Does he (James Jones) shine or have it in your eyes?
MM's concern about all the OL offsides may be due to the fact that Favre isn't in there yet, and it's difficult for the offensive lineman to get used to different cadences.
Favre hates offsides too and he'll kick their butt's for HC Mike McCarthy.

I saw a couple of plays, and he was noticeably skinnier and looked quicker to me. That being said, I can't get excited about him after the last two years. He'll have to show me in real games that my opinion that he's milktoast is premature. Two plays in a practice won't change that opinion.Originally posted by woodbuck27Bubba isn't the most expresive person but does he appear more than just sluggish?
