Thanks player but I'll just go with Nutz since it is on his way and the time works for him. Just get their early enough to get your drink on and you can crash out in my room.
I suppose I should know this but what do you like to drink? I'll bring up some stuff. I'll bring up a selection of Wisconsin's finest perhaps:

Some Pabst Blue Ribbon, some Miller Genuine Draft, and some Leines. Do you guys get any of the Leines out in Cali?

    • I dont drink beer that often. Prefer tequila anyways in shots with some lemon and salt but I will drink what ever you bring.

Are there any micro breweries on the way up from Chicago? I could pick a keg up so we would have something to drink before the game. I alway like to sample the local brews when I can.

Just an opinion, but I think you would have to route your trip through Madison instead of Milwaukee if you wanted a good selection of micro. Practically every decent pub there is a microbrewery in itself, not to mention the multitude of micro brewers in the area.

That works for me....any suggestions? I'll do a search for Wisconsin Breweries but first hand knowledge of the brews is always a plus.

I was always partial to the Great Dane on the Capital Square, but I played softball for them and as a result drank their stuff at least once a week. I also tended toward the Angelic Brewery up in the same area.

I unfortunately don't have much experience with the straight-up breweries in that area, as I like to eat when I drink and stayed with the house beer when I did.

Hell, here's a list of places in the area: http://www.cameorose.com/wineries-br...wisconsin.html

                  • Whenever I get back home, I always make sure to have a Spotted Cow or an Uff-da from the New Glarus Brewery. Jeepers I wish I could make the game.

Near Madison is the New Glarus brewery. Otherwise there are a few in Milwaukee. I know of the Milwaukee Ale House, the Water Street Brewery, and I believe there are a few more.

Skin is absolutely right on Great Dane. One of my favorite restaurants and the one beer I had there I recall it being quite tasty. There gorgonzola and bacon burger is to die for!

Don't know about the Ale House but Water Street Brewery is trash. Both the food and the beer. I think they use a combination of river water and bum piss to brew.

                            • I've had some New Glarus stuff at a brewfest once and thought it was pretty good. I'll check the others out and make some calls. The Sprecher sounds familiar.

                              Thanks for the info boys!

                              • Capital Brewery in Middleton. Doubtful that you would be able to pick up a keg there, but the Wisconsin Amber is one of my favorites.

Just about everything they do is German style.

Located just outside of Madison, Capital Brewery has a tradition of making fine German style craft beer. Each beer will leave you wanting more.
