PACKERS VS BEARS SUNDAY OCTOBER 7, 2007
After speaking with the organizers of both America's Pack Tailgate Party (held in the BF Steakhouse parking lot) and Fuzzy's Tailgate Party (held in Bart Starr Plaza outside of the Resch Center), I finally have all the details set for our gathering. I was originally going to let you guys vote on which tailgate party that we attend, but since America's Pack will not let us in without purchasing tickets in advance, I don't think that is an option for us. Besides, I think Fuzzy's will work out better because first of all, it's closer to the stadium, plus it's right next to scalpers alley, for those that may be interested in getting a ticket for the game.
We will officially meet inside the gates of the tailgate party at 4:15 p.m. (Gates open 3 hrs prior to the game). You can buy your ticket at the entrance for $25 (or $45 if you want the VIP package, see link below for the two differences).
FUZZY'S HAS OFFERED US A $5 PER PERSON DISCOUNT IF WE BUY 10 PASSES IN ADVANCE. ANYONE THAT IS ABSOLUTELY 100% COMMITTED AND IS INTERESTED IN DOING THIS, PLEASE CONTACT ME VIA PM. I WILL PROVIDE FURTHERS DETAILS.
Here is the link for complete information on the two different tailgate parties. I've spoken to a few of you and it seems the majority is happy with the standard party vs the VIP party.
By far the majority of you have indicated that you would much rather attend an organized outdoor tailgate like this vs having to bring chairs, coolers, grills, food, beer and cleaning it all up.
WANT TO START THE PARTY BEFORE FUZZY'S ?
Immediately surrounding the area of our tailgate party are three sports bars who all have outdoor tents set up for drinks, food, live music, etc. If some of you want to meet earlier to get a chance to walk around and experience all of this, we can certainly set up a meeting spot and time to do so. In fact, I recommend that we meet at 3:00 p.m. at the tent outside Stadium View. Then around 4, we walk over to Fuzzy's tailgate party. Walking around and seeing all the different parties going on is half the fun! People always walk all over the place with open containers, but I noticed this year that the city put up signs all over the place condemning open intoxicants outside of gated areas. Not sure if they will be enforcing this or not. They haven't in the past.
PARKING
Expect to fork out $25-$30 per vehicle for parking. Some of you (PIP) don't have to worry about this because your hotel is within walking distance. For others, you may want to speak to fellow rats about car-pooling or something if you want to save a few bucks.
For those that want to do stadium tours or see the HOF, these fill up very quickly on home game weekends. I don't think they take reservations, so you are pretty much on your own to do that. I know most everyone will be in town on Sat already and some will want to do the "tourist" things and others will not. We can talk amongst each other to see about perhaps getting together for things on Sat. I'm always up for going to the casino
DON'T HAVE GAME TICKETS BUT STILL WANT TO TAILGATE? There are alot of you in the same boat. So, after the tailgate party, we'll just walk over to an area sports bar and watch it on TV. Now, I can certainly understand people flying in from out of state not wanting to do this, but for those of us within a couples hours drive, it's not a big deal. On that note, Joemailman, BF4MVP, JustinHarrell, DigitalDean, etc... there is no excuse why your asses should not be at this tailgate party!!!
Anyhow, I think that's about it. If you have any questions at all about the area, fee free to drop me a PM.
