problems with new field?

we had 4 players that suffered mcl injuries last night in the first real game on our new field turf

none of the injuries sound very serious but it is still very strange that all 4 players that were injured would have the same problem

could it be the new field, or just the rain

or just a bad cowinkidink

since the Seachickens didn't lose anyone, maybe you're onto something. Or... the Seachickens are just used to playing in the rain?

This is what Holmgren had to say about the lack of injuries..


At least the Seahawks didn't come away from the game with any major injuries.

"Why would we?" Holmgren said. "We didn't hit anybody."

It was NOT a problem with the new turf. In fact, if you watch Bodiford's injury he was "flying" through the air when it happened. He wasn't even on the turf.

I thought the field held up really well. Players weren't slipping all over either. A tarp wasn't placed over the field before the game so it absorbed all that rain all day.

My guess, the Packers are very, very pleased with the new turf.

Yea, artificial turf gets a bad rap and it's unfounded.

The field held up well with a constant rain all day on Saturday.

The field didn't turn into a mud pit between the hashes.

The most important thing about any kind a field turf when it comes to injuries it is usually how hard the surface is underneath the surface, and if the players footwear can rotate with out tearing an acl.

There is like a foot of sand underneath the playing surface and it mostly plays like a natural surface.
