Had to get rid of it, though. Commuting to work in that thing was a damn pain in the ass. Wouldn't start half the time.

Correct. They have significantly less expensive repairs (drive train). Every car is gonna go through brakes, water pumps, belts, etc.Originally posted by falcoThat may be your opinion based on your experience, but its pretty common fact that the cost of ownership is significantly lower than GM vehicles, when one takes into account gas mileage, maintenance, initial cost, etc.Originally posted by PartialToyota's have their fair share of problems as well. Honda is the king of reliability. Japanese cars have better drive trains but beyond that they don't have any lower amounts of problems in my opinion.Originally posted by falcoI've owned enough that I really love my toyota now.Originally posted by RastakHow many Chevey's have you owned?Originally posted by BallHawkOn a related note, Chevy should stop trying to prove their so American and focus on not making POS cars.
My next car will be a Jeep Patriot now that they have a lifetime drive train warranty. I will beat it into the ground and keep it for 10-15 years. They have historically been shitty cars because they have tranny problems. Now that won't be an issue for me.
Plus I would feel good about buying American.

Honda has taken over Toyota for the reliability according to J.D. Waterhouse. Toyota is growing too big too fast for their own good imo.Originally posted by retailguyHonda's USED to be the king of reliability, not anymore. They have their fair share of issues today. Toyota is typically a Very reliable car/truck. Do you mean JD Power and Associates?Originally posted by PartialHonda has taken over Toyota for the reliability according to J.D. Waterhouse. Toyota is growing too big too fast for their own good imo.
If that has happened, it is very recent. I have been concerned that as the Prius ages, it'll affect both the reliability score, but also maintenance costs.
I know that a new prius engine costs over 8000. bucks. And people think they are saving money by buying less gas? such a joke.

I just looked it up and was surprised to find the base sport gets 26/30. Pretty good considering the similarly priced Element gets 19/24.Originally posted by PartialMy next car will be a Jeep Patriot now that they have a lifetime drive train warranty.
