Good. It's his throwing shoulder. It's gotta effect his accuracy and arm strength.

I'd still be surprised if he played. According to ESPN:

Dr. James Andrews, a noted orthopedic specialist in Birmingham, Alabama, studied an MRI of Manning's shoulder and informed the team that he believed Manning was "week-to-week" based on his findings, a source said.

However, two sources said again on Tuesday Manning does have a slightly separated shoulder. The Giants have varied on their official report, calling it either a contusion of the A-C joint or a shoulder sprain.

"It's medical word games," a source close to Manning said. "He's got a second-degree separation -- that comes from the Giants' doctor [Russ Warren], who did the hands-on exam and thought it could be a month … three or four weeks.

"Dr. Andrews admitted that he doesn't have the benefit of a hands-on exam, but he was encouraged by the MRI. There's no structural damage, but there is a little soreness and some swelling. He thinks that it could be a week-to-week deal, but that's not an absolute. It's encouraging but there has to be some caution exercised here."

pretty risky, they could lose him for the season if he gets hurt worse.

I'm guessing he has the same thing that happened to me this summer. I was playing around with some friends and I ran at a friend who was in the middle of street. I didn't mean to hit him, but he zigged when he should have zagged, and all 280 pounds of me couldn't stop, so I wound up destroying both of us and landing with my hip bone on my wallet, I couldn't walk right for about a week, because the bruising and swelling was so bad, and it was really tight for about a month. These bruises that make some players sit for a week or two, are not your run of the mill bruises, they hurt like hell and cause things to stop working properly.

With that said, if this is on his throwing shoulder I sure as hell don't think he'd be at 100% to play this week.

Clearly, the best thing for the Giants to do would be to sit him this week so that he can rest his shoulder and play him the week after. No need to rush him out there and get him hurt in a non-division game after all.

                  Eli's Coming!!

The A/C joint may hurt but it should not interfere with his mechanics too much. They will inject it with a local and he should play.

Don't believe what the Giants are telling you. Where there is smoke, there is fire. Eli is NOT playing. The Giants are trying to hide his injury to make it more difficult for opposing teams to game plan. That's my take on it.

Even if he does play, think of the first sack that lands him on that side...

                        From espn this morning:

A second opinion on Eli Manning's shoulder offered encouraging news to the New York Giants quarterback on Tuesday, sources confirmed.

                        Manning
Dr. James Andrews, a noted orthopedic specialist in Birmingham, Alabama, studied an MRI of Manning's shoulder and informed the team that he believed Manning was "week-to-week" based on his findings, a source said.

Manning himself has said that he was not in a great deal of pain and believed he has a chance of playing Sunday against the Green Bay Packers in a home opener.

Wait, so Eli's shoulder fell on his wallet? Why was his wallet by his shoulder during a game? I've seen cigarette packs rolled up in shirt sleeves but never a wallet.

I hope Eli plays because all I'll hear at work is how the Packers would have lost if Eli played.

Just like the Bears would have won the Super Bowl if Rexy played.
