Thanks KY.Originally posted by KYPackIt's Ron Wolf's boy Eliot....Originally posted by woodbuck27A question:
Anyone on this forum?
Who is the member of the Packer Scouting Dept. responsible for looking at possible talent prospects in the CFL?
Eliot Wolf
Pro Personnel Assistant
Eliot Wolf in 2007 begins his fourth season as a pro personnel assistant, working primarily at Lambeau Field under Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson. He originally joined the Packers Feb. 26, 2004.
Wolf's primary duties involve scouting teams in the NFL, NFL Europa, Canadian Football League and Arena Football League. He also is involved with in-season advance scouting of upcoming Packers opponents.
Signing CFL guys is a little more complicated, They must be total FA's, there's a "no-raid" policy in effect.
We do do it, Henry Burris is the last CFL guy I can remember us signing.
Henry Burris is playing outstanding as the starting QB for the Calgary Stampeders.
By the way. Our 4th round pick fr. 2006, Cory Rodgers seems to have found a good spot with the BC (British Columbia) Lions. He is playing as a WR and handling kicks and /or punts.
I'm serious about Jesse Lumsden and Jarrett Payton.
Both of these young men have excellent attitude and skills as RB's. Jarrett Payton came on like gangbusters in Montreal and stole the strarting job fr. arguably the best RB last season in the CFL. Robert Edwards of the Montreal Alouettes.
Both are very solid.** Since 2006 3 X Pro Pickem' Champion; 4 X Runner-Up and 3 X 3rd place.

** If God doesn't fish, play poker or pull for " the Packers ", exactly what does HE do with his buds?

Jarrett Payton was with the Titans for a couple years but didn't cut it with them so he was released. I'm up for trying anything on offense thoughTERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Yer right, it's Ryan.
The Pack does a good job of scouting the CFL. I'd like to see us get our share of NFL street FA's. We should have had about 4-6 RB & TE NFL FA's in this off-season. But it's against our GM's religion. He doesn't want to take reps from our 17 7th round picks.
