  • Official Chargers @ Packers Game Thread

Been thinking a lot about today's game. It really has the potential to rub out all the good vibe and hope we have built over the first few weeks. Everyone seems to think that looking good and not getting blown out by an AFC powerhouse is good enough.

Well I think that's a bunch of crap. The chargers haven't done anything worthy of that respect. So they made it to the playoffs last season? Call me when they actually win one of those playoff games. Bottom line, the chargers are all about LT and Gates. Find a way to contain them or match their output and there is no reason why this day can't belong to the G&G.

Put your fear aways for the next few hours because it has no place in the brawl that is about to go down at Lambeau.

It's a perfect time to play the Chargers in one sense. They have nine new coaches and with basically the same roster they look like a .500 team at this point. Norv Turner has failed in every head coaching gig he has received.

But they are very talented and should be mad. If Norv is even an OK coach they should come out with fire.

I'll be happy if they are competitive today; a win would be better.
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

        Game

IF this team is headed in the right direction, we'll see the proof today. I strongly dis-agree with those who see this game as un-important. This is'nt about beating an elite team, it's about taking OUR HOUSE back!

If we come out and punch LT, Gates and Rivers in the mouth we can win. We have to set a physical tone.

As far as offense is concerned, Favre has to protect the ball and we have to break one big one with Jennings or Driver on their weak secondary.

          ST's has to play well.

          It's a winnable game.

Glad you're free Mad, some of the guys thought you were in the clink. Should be a good game. I like the Bolts but GB is playing pretty well.

Game is on the tube here in Alaska! I'm installing new kitchen cabinets but am DVRing the game...and of course I'll have the audio blaring. I think this is going to be a hell of game.

Packers and Chargers inactives should be out shortly......here are the Vikings inactives for what it's worth....

Inactives: QB Tarvaris Jackson (3rd QB), RB Chester Taylor, TE Garrett Mills, FB Tony Richardson, T Chase Johnson, WR Troy Williamson, NT Fred Evans, DE Erasmus James.

Fantasy take: Kelly Holcomb will start in the absence of Jackson. Adrian Peterson will again see most of the work with Taylor out. He's a fabulous option for fantasy owners. Williamson has little value.

Good morning everyone. I will try to be on this thread periodically to make a nice presence in the forum. I am hungover at this point, so I'm going for a run.

What are the chances Ted Thompson tries to swing a deal for Ricky Williams. The running game is scary right about now. I don't have a lick of faith in Deshawn Wynn. Grant it, he had a whopping 50 yards against a very bad Giants defense.

I do like how the Packers have improved immensely on defense and special teams, but if they are going to open up and kind of improvement offensively, they have to average more than 2.2 yards per carry. Maybe Ricky Williams?

                      Ok, a little OT, but...

                      Jackson is the #3 QB?????

FWIW I like Holcomb. Put him in the mold of Kitna...in Cleveland and Buffalo, he had high draft choices ahead of him that were given priority.

With Jordan banged up I'm still wondering if I should go with AP

                            Packers and SD inactives:

                            Green Bay Packers
Inactives: RB Vernand Morency, SAF Aaron Rouse, DB Frank Walker, LB Desmond Bishop, G Tony Moll, DT Justin Harrell, DT Daniel Muir, DT Mike Montgomery.

Fantasy take: Brandon Jackson and DeShawn Wynn will share carries with Morency out. Greg Jennings is active and will start, while James Jones will be the third wideout.

                            San Diego Chargers
Inactives: QB Charlie Whitehurst (3rd QB), CB Paul Oliver, WR Legedu Naanee, LB Anthony Waters, LB Matt Whilhelm, T Roman Oben, TE Scott Chandler, WR Eric Parker.

Fantasy take: Rookie Craig Davis will continue to start in the absence of Parker, but he has little fantasy value.

                              I would go AP.

edit: To further expand....the Chiefs run D hasn't been very good the first two weeks.
