  • whats wrong w/ this defense

they are getting killed by this offense. horrible. i thought they were suppose to be good but Rivers only throws an incomplete pass if its intentional. geez.

guess maybe the defense was a tad overrated.

can we really expect the offense to keep up the pace in this game?

ahhhhhhhh nice to see them pull it out. i was worried hhaha

They are good but far from great. They are no where near the bears D.

It isn't yet a dominant defense, but it is a good defense. Good enough to come up with big plays to win games.

Coverage looked pretty good overall today, Rivers was just on fire and put the ball exactly where it needed to be. There was pressure, but not enough for consistent sacks. I think if the coverage was just a little tighter, we would have seen more sacks. Rivers consistently getting rid of the ball about a half second before getting sacked.

And a few of his completions were flukes.

Our front four isn't consistent with getting to the QB without help.

San Diego has a great OL. Dielman, McNeill, and Hardwick are all very good--while Goff and Olivea aren't bad. Give them credit. LT didn't score 31 TDs last year all by himself. After a game like this, not every phase was going to look mint. Our OL did very well against a great San Diego front 7.

Rivers also gets the ball out pretty quickly.

Don't worry they are saying the same thing in San Deigo right now.

The defense did exactly what it needed to today against a good offense. Good offenses can score points against good defenses, but what good defenses do is keep the game close against good offenses.

The game plan was easy to see. LT was NOT going to beat the Packers. P. Rivers was allowed to try and win the game and HE FAILED! NICE JOB D!!!!

                    LOVE THOSE PACKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But the fact that Rivers played pretty well made this a dicey proposition at times.

I did not like our coverage schemes for Gates. Gates against Bush ??? Damn. Pre and post half they looked poor as hell and gave up the 14 on 2 80 yard drives.

That being said, that would normally kill a Defense, but we held a 14-2 SB contender last year to 24 points and won the game.

Got some things to work on but it's looking good right now.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of San Diego's offensive schemes are designed to create mismatches for Gates. Better Bush on Gates than nobody...

We tried everybody on Gates. Barnett, Hawk, Poppinga, Bigby, Collins, Bush, Woodson. This just in: Antonio Gates is pretty damn good.
