Congrats to #4 on tying Marino today. Winning makes it more a special day and moment for him. He looked like he might cry out there. He rolled the dice and waited for the team to rebuild and now that patience is paying off. He looks like he cant believe what was happening. The camera shots of him covering his head on that last chargers drive was agonizing.

I think everyone is starting to believe. Fans and TEAM alike.
So they stoned us at the goal line.
Our defense got us the ball back with 2:30 to go!
Give us a second chance and we will score.[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

Maybe Favre will finish with 444.

The football gods would have been angered but a classless display like that. The record will be set in the true heat of battle. Just like 420 was achieved.Originally posted by ChubbyhubbyWhen the Packers were on the 2 yard line 1st and goal I was thinking this could be it! 421!! Instead he gave it to Jackson to score the winnng TD!

That is nuts.Originally posted by motifeBoth Marino and Favre got their 420 in an IDENTICAL 240 starts.
Is the yardage in reach this year, or would that take another season?[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.

He has to average something like 240 yards per game for 16 games to break the yardage record. He is ahead of the pace after today's game.Originally posted by swedeThat is nuts.Originally posted by motifeBoth Marino and Favre got their 420 in an IDENTICAL 240 starts.

To start the season he needed 3,862 (242/game).Originally posted by the_idle_threatHe has to average something like 240 yards per game for 16 games to break the yardage record. Unofficially, he has 861 right now.
So he needs 3,001 in 13 games (231/game from here on out)
The last three years he has had 3885, 3881 and 4088 yards.
The two before that he had 3361 and 3658.
With the way they run the offense now, 40 attempts/game the record should be reachable.

Exactly. Brett's commitment to the game and preparing/conditioning himself to be effective is something that can't be overlooked. He will be respected for his atleticism this season as much as for anything else he'll do.Originally posted by Scott CampbellOriginally posted by motifeBoth Marino and Favre got their 420 in an IDENTICAL 240 starts.
I'll bet Marino's didn't make his team 3-0. Dan was pretty washed up when he threw it. Brett looks fantastic.
He's doing remarkable things at an age when most players have already retired.
