  • Pack signs Bodiford

The Green Bay Packers on Monday signed WR Shaun Bodiford and released WR Chris Francies. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement.

Bodiford (pronounced BAH-dee-ford), a 5-11, 186-pound player from Portland State, played in three games for the Packers in 2006 before being placed on injured reserve. The second-year pro played in all four preseason games for the Packers in 2007 and was on the Redskins' roster for the first two weeks of the regular season. He will wear No. 19.

When it comes to #5 WRs, I'd rather have Bodiford than Francies.

    Good move.

At a certain point I had high hopes for Bah-dee-ford, but after you've been cut three times I think, statistically, your chances of being an impact player are less than Bill Schroeder's.

Well, there's a surprise. I never could have seen that one coming...

I thought I read where the Redskins resigned him this weekend after cutting him last week. Must have mis-read that.

He was reported to have been signed to their practice squad after they released him.

They can have Francies for their PS.

I suggest we organize ourselves into Bodiford and Francies camps and have it out.

Is there anyone actually IN the Francies camp?

I'm sure there are few good sports who like to rumble. I'll be Captain of Team Francies.

I like this move. Bodiford isn't going to make or break this season but he is a better option then Francies. Good move TT.

This is a bad omen. All of TTs best moves - drafting Collins, Jennings, Jones, etc. have met with the most criticism.

Having this move supported here - probably means it wasn't a good move.

It would be sweet to wake up in the morning and read that the Pack has signed a RB such as Corey Dillon or maybe made a trade for a high quality back. That's what this team's missing.
