Green Bay's McCarthy not amused by Vikings' comments

I agree. I think it's a slap in the face not to talk positively about an opponent that is on the doorstep of such an amazing record. I honestly think McCarthy is pissed. Everyone keeps talking about a close game. I think the Packers are going to step on their throats and if we win, we are going to run up the score doing it.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

Besides, player to player stuff is generally fine with me -- the talker is going to have to go out and either back it up or get exposed.
But I was really surprised to see this from Vikes HC Childress: "I think maybe it would be more of a source for pride if we could help him tie the record for most career interceptions with George Blanda."
I don't think Childress knows Favre, so this can't be brushed off as just banter between old friends, like if it came from Mooch or Reid (who would never have said such a classless thing in any event).
If I were a Vikes fan, I'd be worried that my head coach was so friggin stupid and clueless. There is NO reason for an NFL headcoach to disrespect any player approaching a major record. Friggin moron.
I listened to the Vikings weekly show from Winter Park on a podcast before the Gopher game tonight and Childress had nothing but good things to say about Green Bay. In particular Favre and Harris. You guys are over-reacting BIG time.
In particular he said Favre hadn't lost much if anything over the years and most QB's would dislocate their arm if they tried to throw it as hard as Favre does. He also called Harris, "One tough cat". Yea, a real slap in the face.

This headline is hilarious. "The Emperor is not amused, be very, very afraid."Originally posted by packers11Green Bay's McCarthy not amused by Vikings' comments
Its ok, all in fun. It's not easy to find something to write about every day of the week. I don't think the bulletin boad stuff counts for much, these guys have heard it all before.

Sharper always talks trash; he enjoys it and has that witty arrogance about him
He was the guy GB media always flocked to for a quote and I'm sure he still is now
I highly doubt this reflects the coaches in any wayTERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

You must have the testosterone level of a 2 week old girl. Have you ever been angry, HH? Some people get pissed when they are crossed. It's mostly macho bullshit, but it's all part of the overtestosteroned gig.Originally posted by Harlan Huckleby

Jenkins & Kampman seem to be lacking in testosterone, JH.Originally posted by packers11Defensive ends Cullen Jenkins and Aaron Kampman, who both played with Sharper, laughed off the comments by their former teammate. "Sharper is going to talk trash," Jenkins said. "That's just him. You have to get up for the game however you can and that's him."

It's not Sharpers comments that bother me. He's having fun. It's the lack of respect shown by Chilly and the whole team. It seems like it may be exaggerated in the media according to Rastak, but let's not pretend like it's unheard of for grown men to get pissed off if they are not shown respect.
You've been all about patronizing McCarthy's no nonsense approach since he was hired. Maybe it's the defensive gay man in you.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

MM works very hard and he is growing as a Head Coach.Originally posted by KYPackI like Coach.Originally posted by rpiotr01Mike McCarthy starting to get a little chip on his shoulder. I like that
I was skeptical when he took over and was real nervous after the first 8 games. I kind of wanted Childress or Ferentz at the time of the hire. I was wrong. Coach Mac has a handle on this ballclub and he is runnin' the show. He's a good young coach & I'm damned glad we got him.
Re: the comments
I would not expect anything but those comments fr. our great rival Minny.
Our match record is 46-44-1 since the Vikings arrived in the NFL. Very close and the outcome of games is often very close.
I expect a very tough game and a FG to win it late for us. I hope to see more ST advancement and for Favre to get 421, set the record for most passing attempts with 11 completions (if he gets proper protection) and break a tie for second in the most consec. starts standing ALL PLAYERS - ALL TIME.
I want to see this game and enjoy all that (but most of all a Packer win) here in Saint John, New Brunswick visiting with my Packer friends.
