With our running game being what it is, Brett will smash this record.

I've been wondering about this - thanks for posting. I thought he had no chance to break it this year, and didn't imagine this passing game in my wildest imagination.

Based on his first 4 games, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for Favre to be MVP.

Tom Brady and Randy Moss look like early candidates, and Peyton is always in contention.

At the begining of the year he needed to average 241 yards/game.

After last week it was 231 yards/game.

            Now it is 221/game.

            I like the trend.

I wonder how long he will hold all the records. Marino held the TD record for 13 years. Peyton is only 140 TD's behind Favre, so if Favre retires this year Peyton could easily break it in 5 years.

I think Favre has already so many records(most wins, most TD passes, most consecutive games for a QB) that this yardage record is virtually meaningless to him.

Favre has to play until 2018 to break George Blanda's 27 years in the league. The way he's playing, I think he can do it. It would be a shame for Aaron Rodgers to retire as Favre's backup though.

Maybe, like Blanda, Favre can do it on special teams. Long snapper, FG kicker, punter, etc.

btw, Warren Moon played 17 years in the NFL. How many in the CFL?

p.s. I don't think anyone "easily" throws 30 TD's per year. This is Peyton's 10th year. He could more realistically do it 7 years.

Brady, Moss and Manning have help. Favre doesn't. If Favre produces a 30/4000 season and gets the Packers to the playoffs, he deserves the MVP more than he has at any other point in his career IMO. He's out there with only one proven skill position guy at this point (Driver) with a bunch of 1st and 2nd year guys everywhere else.

The NFL MVP is supposed to be the player who meant the most to his teams success. Tom Brady is surrounded with talent so that takes him out. Moss and Brady cancel each other out. Tony Romo could be a candidate after that obnoxious scramble for a 3 yard pickup after a botched snap. That was just sick!

Unfortunately, the media will chose whoever it is. Peyton Manning never deserved it. Harrison is down so it will be interesting to see how Manning does without him against a team that can cover a TE.

I haven't seen this posted on here yet, so my bad if it is somewhere else...

                          Favre's 2007 pace:

                          448 completions (record 418 - Gannon 2002)
                          680 attempts (record 691 - Bledsoe 1994)
                          4,820 yds (record 5,084 - Marino 1984)
32 TDs (would be his NINTH season with 30 or more TD passes)

                            Yup.

He just has to remain healthy.

May the POWER be with Brett.

Aaron Rodgers either waits at least two more seasons or begins somewhere
                              else.

Favre will be back for 2008. He has every reason to go on as long as he wishes and feels he can lead our team and is treated fairly.
