One last thing, our running backs have no idea how to cut back. I swear, I rewind so many run plays and rewatch them screaming, Oh, my god, stop, and turn and go the other way, there's nothing but daylight, it's like the coaches tell them they have to hit a hole "inside the line" and can't swing it out. Frustrating.
I was listening to the game on national radio and Dan Reeves, the color commentator, made the same comment. He said on one particular play that Morency could have went all the way if he had cut back.
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

Q: Are the Packers risking a letdown by not running the ball? What happens when the weather gets cold and conditions are bad, aren't they going to need to run the ball then?

A: No, I think the Packers are smart. You play to your strengths, which is Brett Favre. Right now he's the No. 1 quarterback; he's 1A with Tom Brady. You play to your strengths. OK, the Packers didn't get a running back, but at the same time you play to your strengths. You put five wides out there and let people cover them. I know everybody is complaining about the running game, but I'd rather complain about it with the victories. I don't want to take away from these victories, complaining about our running game. So I think the fans should look at it, it is what it is. The Packers are winning right now, be very happy. Look at it this way, you could be Chicago coming into Lambeau 1-3 in jeopardy of falling four games out. They're supposed to have a running game.

I'm going to add onto that question: Do you think a team without a running game can go to a Super Bowl? I say yes. In the past, teams a la Baltimore with Trent Dilfer went with no passing game. Or you could also go the Super Bowl with just a passing game and no running game a la the New England Patriots. It can happen.

As for the winter, go back and think about your strength. Brett Favre is the best bad-weather quarterback to ever play the game. With the receivers developing the way they are I think it's going to be interesting to see those guys position themselves on defensive backs in the winter.

Now let's not kid ourselves, the Packers are going to have to find a way to generate between 80 and 100 yards to be respectable. You wonder why Ryan Grant was in the game to be able to fumble. What the Packers are trying to do is establish a guy in that part of the game that they can go to. I'm not sure it will be him, but they have to try to establish somebody.

I sure hope we can get some kind of a running game because if we don't, it will haunt us in the big games that are looming.

He said that he's going to keep doing this until it stops working. I bet we rush less than 15 times. I also bet at least 5 of them are audibled into.

He did, he's just not giving it up during game week. What a strategist!
