  • Predict the Madden!

Yes, I know that the score of the actual game is more meaningful, but I will be tracking another score on Sunday Night...

The number of times John Madden says "Favre", "Brett", or "Brett Favre" during the live game broadcast.

This has the likelihood to go down as the single greatest name dropping event in Madden's history...which is filled with such exploits, usually surrounding Emmitt Smith on Thanksgiving or any Steve Young running play.

    My guess is 50.

It is too bad we don't have Summerall anymore...so we could also keep tabs on how many wrong player identifications he had during the broadcast.

Is that just by halftime and does it count when he just says "Brett" or "#4" or "mancrush"?

I'm going to keep track. I'm only going to count actual references to his name..."Brett", "Favre", or "Brett Favre"...rather than "#4", "Superman", or "First Ballot HOFer". And "Brett Favre" together is ONE reference, not two.

I could wind up on injured reserve next week with a wrist injury as I try to keep up with the tick marks.

Hopefully, Madden's drool won't short out his microphone.

Does anyone have a link to the Madden (Caliendo) clip where he is singing "My Brett Favre's back" the to tune of "My boyfriend's back"?

Yes...once Costas sends the action over to Madden and Michaels at around 8:15pm, the counting begins until they sign off. Madden will no doubt come out of the box en fuego and in full Favre-love mode.

You can actually play a drinking game to this

Its simple. Everyone watching the game Sunday must drink everytime Madden says Favres name.

I wouldn't be able to watch the other three quarters

Leaper, I would count when he says "4" because Madden routinely refers to him as that.

                              Put me down for 145.
