Interesting stat: in the last 7 weeks, the Packers have as many victories (5) as every team in the NFL West combined. The Packers have gone 5-1 and had a bye, Seattle has 3 victories, Arizona has 2 victories, St. Louis and San Francisco have 0 victories.
Speaking of the 49ers, how big of a disappointment have they been this year. They dropped all that cash in the offseason, were the hot pick for the playoffs, and haven't done shit.
I'm not saying this totally vindicates TT's approach, but this happens every year.

Agreed. More times than not--unless you are New England. They have the core players and the rings, so they can often attract FA at less than market value also.
San Fran is 2-6, and their two wins were extremely ugly. Actually, I think their problems stem more from a lot of their second and third year players (Alex Smith, Vernon Davis, Justin Smiley, etc.) not progressing like they thought. Everybody thought Darrell Jackson was a steal, but it's now apparent why Seattle was willing to trade him to a division opponent for a midround pick. He's milktoast after all of the injuries.
"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson
These probably won't make the playoffs but Minnesota & Buffalo can beat anyone...sans Patsies I guess. Both will be dangerous spoilers in the second half.
