    Patriots complain about crowd noise
    By Jason Cole

    Monday, Nov 5, 2007 12:13 pm EST
The NFL is looking into allegations that the Indianapolis Colts piped in noise during the game Sunday between the Colts and the Patriots. The charge comes after Patriots President Jonathan Kraft became the latest NFL team executive to accuse the Colts of the distracting tactic that is against the rules.

"We're aware of it and we're looking into it," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Monday. "It may just be the TV feed from CBS, but we're checking it out."

Observers at the game said there seemed to be a "skip" in the sound during the game Sunday, which the Patriots won 24-20. That might confirm the long-held suspicion among many people in the NFL that the Colts play loud crowd noise to help distract opponents when the other team is on offense.

"We're aware of the accusations, but there has never been anything to substantiate it," Aiello said.

Kraft approached NFL Vice President of Security Milt Ahlerich after Kraft and his parents, Patriots owners Bob and Myra Kraft, left the Patriots locker room after the game.

Kraft was angry as he told Ahlerich the league needed to look into the allegation. Ahlerich is the same person who confiscated a videotape made by the Patriots during a game against the New York Jets in Week 2 that led to the Spygate controversy.

In addition, New England quarterback Tom Brady also commented on how loud it was in the RCA Dome.

"I don't know how you measure levels of being deaf, but we couldn't hear anything out there," Brady said.

This is the latest in a string of incidents between the teams that have fueled the growing Colts-Pats rivalry. In the past, Colts General Manager Bill Polian has vehemently argued that the Patriots have bent the rules in terms of use of replay challenges and the pass interference rule.

There might be something to it or there might not. The place is an echo chamber. At the Packer game a few years ago the decent size contingency of Pack fans had the place pretty loud with chants of " GO PACK GO!".

As a band geek in high school I marched there four times, the sound just keeps on going. Not so good for keeping 300 band members playing in time, but great at taking diminutive sounds and perpetuating them.

I wouldn't be surprised if Indy does this, and I'm not surprised to see the Pats whining.

Been there too for BOA. The echo is insane and got half our band off time.

          From Spygate to Crygate!

Aiello is the same guy who hemmed and hawed when asked questions about the NFL quickly destroying the evidence that the Patriots sent them for the "Spygate" scandal. It seemed very fishy to me that they destroyed the evidence and rendered a decision so quickly, like "See, see world! We acted quickly and decisively! Now, let's all just move on with our lives."

These teams truly don't like each other, you could tell by the brief and nasty after game hand shake between coaches.

I don't have a problem with the Pats beating the pants off of everybody.

And I've never seen what the fuss is about Belecheck. So he wears sweatshirts and is a little gruff.

I have a problem with the league office for not suspending him. I'm mad at the commissioner, not Belechek.

I remember hearing this when I was watching the game. I thought something was wrong with the broadcast. Didnt give it much attention at the time.

CBS TAKES BLAME FOR SOUND GLITCH

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that CBS has taken responsibility for the bizarre sound glitch that has prompted speculation that the Colts were caught red-handed in the act of piping phony crowd noise into the RCA Dome.

Per Schefter, the vibrating sound as the Pats were driving at the start of the fourth quarter was the result of tape feedback in the CBS production truck. Schefter says that the sound could not be heard in the stadium.

We've spoken to some radio folks who also believe that the phenomenon was not the result of a glitch during the use of artificial crowd noise.

Oh well. Controversy is a lot juicier. But even when the truth isn't sexy, we've still got to respect it.

Johnathan Kraft looks like a bigger whiner now than he did just 12 hours ago!

JONATHAN KRAFT ACCUSES COLTS OF CHEATING

Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reports that Patriots president Jonathan Kraft, the son of owner Bob Kraft, has accused the Colts of pumping artificial crowd noise into the RCA Dome during Sunday's game between the Patriots and the Colts.

Per Cole, the younger Kraft approached NFL V.P. of Security Milt Ahlerich after Kraft and his parents emerged from the team's locker room after the game. Jonathan Kraft reportedly was angry, and he told Ahlerich that the matter needs to be explored.

Coincidentally, Ahlerich confiscated the videotape of defensive signals made by the Patriots during a Week One win over the Jets.

Earlier on Monday, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told us that the league is looking into the matter. He reiterated the comments to Cole, adding that "[i]t may just be the TV feed from CBS, but we're checking it out."
Also I dont believe for one moment that the Patriots had communication problems. I find it easier to believe this is something Belicheat schemed up in the event he lost the game and he wanted to be prepared to blame it on those events or even go so far as to suggest the Coilts were cheating.

                            PATS WERE WITHOUT COACH-TO-QUARTERBACK SYSTEM

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick said on Monday that his team didn't have the benefit of the coach-to-quarterback radio system for much of Sunday's game against the Colts.

Per Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe, Belichick said that the problems were unusual, and that the situation forced the Pats to use hand signals in order to communicate with quarterback Tom Brady.

The development is filled of irony, since the Pats have in the past been accused of causing similar problems in their home stadium.

With that said, there's no evidence that the Colts had anything to do with it.

cheaters cheaters cheaters; Dam Colt Cheaters ! No wonder why they win a SB

Honestly, if they did this they have one thing in common with the Pats. They violated a rule that had little effect on anything
