  • Me, They, Us, We

    I don't get it.

I see every video Packers.com publishes and I also read avidly.

Players say "Whatever 'they' decide". Or "It's up to 'them'".

    WTF?

Where is the "we" in "they"? Where is the "I" in team?

When players use those terms, I feel like they are mercenaries. Worse, I feel they feel they are mercenaries!

The players are employees and they know it. I speak about my work management the same way, "Them!"

The players use "we", though, when speaking about each other.

I think it's reasonable. Management doesn't consult employees on what "they" will do next. Even if they do, it's still "their" decision.
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

as long as they don't start refering to themselves as "we", its no big deal.

That's right! The guys on the field playing along side them are the only ones they should honestly give a shit about. Tarlam, quit being a sensitive lil baby. WTF you doing, taking estrogen?
