1st and 10: 2 Live Stews

I'm watching 2 Live Stews and Jason Smith on 1st and 10 this morning. Jason Smith has been around sports talk for a while.

Naturally, everyone is picking Dallas, but now the prognosticators are saying Favre will throw INT's in either the first, second, or even the NFC Championship game to lose in the playoffs.

That's really going out on a limb there.

I have trouble with the argument that the Cowboys have players that have "been there" and Green Bay is all youth.

Packer fans know that Green Bay is a young ball club, personally I don't think the Cowboys are iodes better at this point.

One might think "Okay Favre is going to throw a bunch of INT's during big games, he's thrown 101 in the last 5 years", but I'd rather go with Brett over Tony Romo.

The bigger media outlets rest on Dallas winning the NFC because "They have beaten teams on the road in hostile stadiums like Philly and NY."

GB beat the Giants in NY and Minnesota at that Dump of a Dome as well. How about going into Denver and Kansas City and winning on the road back to back? Matter of fact, I like Mike McCarthy's road record right about now.

I'm not convinced that Dallas is that much better. Maybe on paper and the running game is superior, but they struggled against the Giants. . until the end of the 3rd quarter when Eli's teammates basically melted down with penalties.

With the exception of ESPN's XXX porn fest on Brett Favre during MNF, it's nice to see the Packers fly under the radar a little bit.

I really believe the Packers can beat Dallas.

For selfish reasons I hope the Packers do well in the playoffs but just enough to make Favre come back ONE more year. And then next year will be his gold season and he will walk off into the sunset on top!!

I really believe the Packers can beat Dallas.

For selfish reasons I hope the Packers do well in the playoffs but just enough to make Favre come back ONE more year. And then next year will be his gold season and he will walk off into the sunset on top!!

I'm with you on that, I think he will play at least one more year, depending on the out come of this season.

Of course not. The most critical position on the field is QB...and I may be mistaken, but I believe Favre has quite a bit more experience than Romo.

Hell, Romo has 11 INTs this season, more than Favre who has 8. Favre really hasn't had any "bad games" this year. Sure, he played poorly against Washington, but he hasn't thrown up 5 INTs like Romo did against Buffalo.

I feel more comfortable with Favre in the playoffs compared to a youngster like Romo.

I'm hoping both teams win their next two games and it'll be the battle of 10-1 teams.

People keep talking about when we play Dallas and really hyping the game, but am only worried about carolina right now. This is game at home and a team that we should beat like we did the Vikings. I hope the team stays focused and doesn't let the media affect there mind set.

While the Dallas game is going to be a great game, I really worry about the Thanksgiving game with Detroit. The Packer's seem to have trouble with the Lions on turkey day for whatever reason. If the Pack can smoke Detroit, I'll feel a lot better about the chances with the Cowboys in Dallas. This team seems get better as the season progresses and I'm hoping it continues.

Exactly. Packers need to take care of the teams they know they should beat. First, sew up your division, then a bye, then homefield throughout. It's even possible that the Packers could lose to Dallas and still have homefield at 14-2. But for the record, they can beat Dallas. One of McCarthy's greatest coaching challenges will be to keep Favre in the present, because when you've lost so many games in the same place, the ghosts of those defeats can creep up on you. I really like McCarthy's ability to get his guys to play well on the road.

Much as I'd like to see Brett next year, I'd just as soon take a SB win this year and let Brett go out as a champion. You really never know what the next year will bring.

You are definitely right on with this point! Those of us who have been Packer fans for a long time can remember how the Packers struggled against the Lions on T-Day, even during the glory Lombardi years.

Never underestimate your opponent, especially the Lions on T-Day.

The Packers have that team of no name playmakers (other than Favre) that nobody is going to respect. Even if the Packers beat the Cowboys, there will still be talk that the Cowboys just had an off day.


GOOD. That is the exact type of disrespect that makes good teams stay hungry. I hope it keeps up, honestly.
