Vince, I'm very impressed with McCarthy. That said, I think players are the most important part of a team. Coaches help, but 80% of it is the players IMO.

We were going no where with the Robert Thomas, Hannible Navies, Earl LIttles, Antonio Chatmans, BJ Sanders, Cliditus Hunts, Joe Johnsons and Ahmad Carrols of the world. Those guys were starters by the time Sherman stripped this team. These gusy wouldn't even beat out Rouse, Jarred Bush, DAniel Muir, Mike Montgomery, Koren Robinson, Tracy White and whoever else backs up the starters on our current team.

I love the job McCarthy is doing, but he wouldn't be able to win without the quick learning, tough football players that we have now.

We can lose 4 or 5 guys, and we'll still have better starters than what we had a few years ago.

I don't disagree to a large extent JH, but I can't help but think that many of these guys on today's roster would look more like the Sherman guys you mention if Sherman were still coaching.

McCarthy does a fantastic job coaching players and leading the team.

Sherman didn't look bad untill his players were injured or gone. The team slowly aged, lost depth and then it all fell apart.

When Sherman had Wolf's core and he was patching it for those 4 years, he was a big winner. I think most coaches look good when they have players.

I don't disagree that McCArthy is better than Sherman. I don't disagree that he is better than most and a big part of why we are 9-1. I can't put coaching over the GM. I've seen too many coaches look like morons with poor talent.
