The packers are no longer in last anymore...

    #30 packers 80.0 ypg
    #31 KC 77.5 ypg
    #32 Lions 76.9 ypg

If the packers get another 100+ yard game on the ground they could move up to the low 20's!!!

The Lions are rated something like last or close to last in the NFL on 3rd down conversions. I know we are up there in that category. Is the Lions passing game that much to worry about? It's obvious they have a hard time running the ball against weaker teams. If the Lions are one dimensional and can't convert on 3rd down, I see a turkey shoot for our secondary. Any team that abandoned the run against our defense paid for it dearly. If a team could stop our offense and then run the ball, we will be in big trouble because we are giving up way too many yards per carry against the run. I just don't see the Lions being that team.

Not only are the Lions last in rushing offense, they are 30th in passing defense. The only chance I see for Detroit to compete is through takeaways because they have 15 interceptions. Interestingly enough, both Detroit and Green Bay are tied at +5 in that category but Detroit has 11 more giveaways and 11 more takeaways.

Good to hear. I remember when we were last by a LONG shot..It's nice to see improvement. We finally got a back who can hit the hole with authority and has the ability to cut back very well..Go Grant!

Do you think that Grant's emergence has lit a fire under Morency or Jackson? Morency hasn't really gotten much, and neither has Jackson, although I did notice a good inside run from Jackson the other day.

Jackson still looks scared to hit the hole hard.

In Football Outsiders' rankings (http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamoff.php), which factor in quality of opponent, situational success and recency of results, the Packers ground game is now up to the 11th most effective in the league.

Whipping up on the Vikes run D tends to help those rankings.
