Sounds like a plan boys and girls.

To us it would seem that Favre is almost a lock to come back next year because of the team's success. Wouldn't it be a shocker that after 3 years of the retirement talk that in the one season where there is no retirement talk, he retires?

I sure hope not but it's one of those reverse psychology things.

Anyway, Marion shattered the passing records b playing way past his prime. Favre is playing better then he ever has and if the rest of the season goes as it has and he returns for a season or two more and continues like he has, No way Manning will catch him. Manning isn't nearly as mobile as Favre and he is a horrible QB under pressure. Brady might, but he would have to play a very long long time to break them. Brady will probably retire with the most Super Bowls won by a QB and be content with that.

Manning is the only one that can catch Favre in terms of statistics, due to his fast career start. Brady has never put up much in terms of statistics prior to this season...and with all the rings he'll have in 4-5 more years, he'll have little reason to play past his mid-30s when a cushy TV gig awaits.

Manning is on a pace to challenge Favre if he plays as long as Favre. However, he's on this pace because of the ridiculous talent that has surrounded him for 10 years. That kind of supporting cast can't be sustained forever, and we are seeing glimpses of how Manning can struggle when not surrounded with All Pro caliber skill players. That will only become more challenging for him as he ages.

See, this is how rumors get started. Next thing you know, Arrgio is gonna have a report---citing his secret unnamed sources---that Favre may be on the juice.
Wasn't Bellicheck talking about this in his Wednesday press conf? :P

Ya, I'll bet ol' Bill would say anything to shift the "cheating" scrutiny away from himself ...

It will only be because Ted made him do it. :P
