It would be nuts if the Pats too McFadden to go along with Maroney
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Wow, mock drafting at this time of year is a crapshoot. Nfldraftcountdown has Jake Long going second, the first mock here has him going 5th, and the Sporting News has him going 29th to us.

I know recent draft trends are that QBs tend to go later than anticipated and RBs often go ahead of where anticipated. Has there been any similar trend with tackles, cbs, etc?

So that means we'll be trading up. I see no sense in that...

The Browns got their Brady Quinn and paid a hefty salary for him. Now they have a "Problem" in that reserve QB Derek Anderson is having a very solid year. Do they trade away Anderson to get their investment in Quinn or do they keep Anderson as their starter?
Keep Anderson as their starter and sit Brady Quinn down another year. Look what Aaron Rodgers have done he has gotten better each year. He almost pulled of the upset against the Cowboys. No need to rush Quinn in my opinion.

Good post Chub. I wonder if they can afford the payroll(cap) implications, but the A-Rod example gives credence to your argument, for sure.

I think it's more selling the idea to Quinn so he doesn't throw a bitch fit on the bench than it is worrying about money the way the cap's expanded.

Agree, Skin, but it is eery to compare their respective draft day experiences.

Just to add to that, look at Russell and Smith. Even Leinart!

The A-Rod treatment is good, IMO. Even Brett sat a year and a bit....

I was so pissed off T.T. didn't make the trade... Good thing i'm not G.M. , I would be hated right now

you would be hated? we would have 2 1st round picks, and we wouldn't have justin harrell potentially.....I'm not understanding where the hate woudl come from.

I'd have no problem with taking Jones in the draft.

I like the Jake Long, T, Mich, pick. The OL has been a mess all year and I feel it's the Packers biggest need, if Tauch or Cliffy goes down they're screwed. Sure, they've had success drafting guards in the lower rounds in the past but the good tackles are always taken early and I think he'd be a steal if he slips that far. He's better than Tony Mandarich. Just kidding.
                            Thanks Ted!

The biq question with Long is whether teams will feel he can play LT. Sporting News has him rated late 1st round because they feel he can only play RT or G. That could change big time though. The combine and All-Star games will be very important for him.
