That will feel like summer compared to the bitter 40 mph winds and cold they dealt with in Chicago. 32 and mild winds will feel like the Bahamas. That's the kind of weather that is PERFECT for playoffs in Green Bay. Just cold enough to make dome or warm weather teams uncomfortable, but not too cold or windy to affect Brett and our offensive scheming. And for those in this thread complaining about M3's love for the 4/5 spread, you might want to reconsider you're thinking. M3's creative gamecalling and offensive scheming is a big reason why we are 12-3. He has done a marvelous job using our strengths on offense and allowing Brett to be successful. Why do you think Brett's having one of the best years of his great career? Because of the play calling. So, keep spreading those defenses out, I love it. It is why we are so successful, and also is partially why Grant has been so successful. We don't want to go back to a more conservative offense, like Sherman gave us, that's why we got our asses kicked Sunday, because we had to play so conservatively. M3 has been a genius in his scheming this year, and I fully expect to continue spreading defenses out again beginning with Detroit. Plus, with their great DT's, we have to.Originally posted by JoemailmanRight now they're saying high of 32 with chance of snow showers.Originally posted by gbgarywhat's the weather supposed to be like on sunday? or is it too far out to predict?"...one thing about me during the course of a game, I get emotional and say things my grandmother lets me know about later. This kid needs to be nourished and not overspent. M3 is aware of it, so should we be. AP was really not thrown onto the shark pool. One of Chilly's better performances as a coach.Originally posted by packinpatlandNo kidding.Originally posted by FritzDontBlitzI wish M3 would love him a little more. At least love him as much as he loves the 4/5 wide sets....

I suspect he will not get enough carries in this game, with the playoff seeding wrapped up. Running backs get dinged up pretty easily---especially when the blocking is suspect and they're taking hits from defensive linemen rather than defensive backs. I'd rather see him fall short of 1000 this year and come back hungry for it next year, and finish the game healthy. We can all say he got his thousand yards when he has a 100 yard game in our first playoff game.
Meanwhile, there are other running backs on the roster who can use a chance at some carries.

Funny how Grant's long runs seem to come in the sixty-yard range. I guess I'd give him the ball for all three downs every time the Pack got to their own 40 yard line."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Detroit defense wants to keep Grant from 1,000-yard mark

The Detroit Lions defense, one of the league's worst, has set the modest goal of keeping Green Bay Packers tailback Ryan Grant from reaching the 1,000-yard plateau. Ryan needs 101 yards to reach the mark.
"We're definitely going to make sure it doesn't happen," linebacker Ernie Sims said. "We feel like it's all on our shoulders for him not to get that 1,000 yards. Whatever it takes, that's what we're going to have to do."
