Man, I want to see this movie so badly. Looks awesome and is supposed to be something totally fresh and original. Never in a monster movie have they only showed it from the perspective of the panicking citizens perspective.

Kind of like a porno being told from the anus's perspective.
I would be more excited if they had used amateur style shooting throughout - ala Blair Witch - instead of making it so glossy and pretty. I've got The Host laying around here and I'm more interested in watching that."You're all very smart, and I'm very dumb." - Partial

Not true. It has a ton of hype because it had the greatest movie trailer of all time. I am so jacked up for this movie. Reading the reviews, it seems that it is pretty darn well done.Originally posted by BallHawkMan, this has got to be the most overhyped movie since "I Am Legend."
It's basically Blair Witch meets Godzila.

This movie is getting really good reviews by just about every major news publication. I expect a ton more to roll in today.
As I said, its not gimmicky. I think its pretty cool because the whole movie is treated as just a recovered tape from start to finish. The movie starts with an old video on the tape that is being recorded over, then goes to the pre-party stuff, then the party, then them running for their life with the rest of new york.

Interesting quip from Roger Ebert's review for all you "Lost" fanatics.....
The film, directed by Matt Reeves, is the baby of producer J.J. Abrams, creator of TV's "Lost.""I've got one word for you- Dallas, Texas, Super Bowl"- Jermichael Finley
