  • Seven-year-old's joy as surgeons remove huge birthmark

This is a really neat story. Sometimes practicing medicine would just be so cool. Too bad every story doesn't end like this.

When Becky Prosser poses for a photo these days, her pretty face and beaming smile light up the room. It is heartwarming sight considering the desperate weeks and months that followed her birth. Becky, who is now seven, was born with a tiny red blotch on her forehead which nurses dismissed as a pressure mark

Hits close to home for me. I had the same kind of birthmark on my forehead as a child. Didn't spread like that, though, thank goodness. Was about as big as a quarter. The doctors said it would go away, and when it didn't, my parents decided to have it surgically removed when I was turning four years old and about to start preschool.

I have the scar on my forehead, dead center, and I tell people my brother hit me in the head with an axe when we were kids.

Wonder if you could convince someone you've had a lobotomy...Looks like she'll have some scarring, but I find it amazing she can still see out of that left eye.
