    Not that uncommon. Blacktail deer were first transplanted to the Kodiak town site in the 1920s and have populated every island in the Archipelago.

          Let me ask you this, were you aware that Deer can be found swimming 1.5 miles off shore on a somewhat regular occasion?

            That's pretty far out for a deer. I see them sometimes on the chain up north, but usually not more than 500-600 feet from shore.

            Cool story though.

                    Your telling me that guy didn't skin it? Thats the only way to accurately measure body fat in a deer.

                      You can eyeball a deer and telll it's body fat percentaqe...i can do it just be looking at it's hoof.

                              He's too small to be a successful swimming deer. He's going to have to switch to more of a wading deer if he thinks he's going to go pro.
