According to an Associated Press release, Wisconsin leads the country in reports of drivers driving under the influence in the past year. In fact, the Upper Midwest has the worst drunken driving rates in the country.
Utah was the lowest.
Here are the rates of drivers who report driving under the influence in the past year:
Wisconsin 26.4%
North Dakota 24.9%
Minnesota 23.5%
Nebraska 22.9%
South Dakota 21.6%
Pacific Northwest
Oregon 15.9%
Washington 13.8%
Utah less than 10%
Any theories why the Upper Midwest ranks so high?
