Thank you, Tarlam. I'm not particularly bothered by the near unanimity of the criticism, though.

I just hope we don't see our glorious American way of life--including the right to not appreciate it--go down the drain due to the subtle effectiveness of Russert and his sick kind in getting the horrendously wrong and irresponsible people in power as they have pushed so hard to do.

So you're not negatively affecting this country/planet or anyone that lives in it IN ANY WAY?

Do you get outstanding gas mileage because you drive an efficient car and/or you drive efficiently? Or are you helping to raise gas prices for ALL OF US because your vehicle is a guzzler and/or you drive it too fast?

Do you take perfect care of yourself (nutrition, exercise) so that you never have to go to the doctor and are doing your part to help keep healthcare costs low? Or are you one of many millions that could be doing a little more to keep yourself in better health so we could all pay less?

Is your home as energy efficient as it could possibly be? Or could you personally be doing more in your own home to conserve energy?

Do you recycyle everything you possibly can?

Do you donate all of your unwanted goods to charities that would receive them?

Do you donate or volunteer any of your time to any charity of any kind, and how much money to you give to charity annualy?

Is everything you buy made in this country?

Do you donate blood and/or plasma regularily?

Ever receive a ticket or citation of any kind?

Do you have any debt?

Do you have a bias against anyone of a different race or religion than yours?

Are you up to date on your CPR and first aid training, could you safe a life if you had to?

Is your vehicle insured?

Do you keep the exterior of your home, both house and lot, in good condition so as not to lower the property value for those around you?

Have you ever in your life caused bodily harm to another person, be it accidental or otherwise?

Have you ever littered in our life, or has every scrap found the garbage can?

Ever been late to ANY appointments?

Ever been late to work?

If you have children/grandchildren..are they all perfect as well, or did you possibly reproduce more lives that (like most Americans) are NOT perfect and do little things every single day that have a sublte, but very real neagtive effect on this country, when you factor in 70+ years of in it most lifetimes?

Go ahead and list all of the things you have done to better America (that nobody else has done), it must be pretty long if the attitude you display in your posts is any kind of an indicator.

If you are like most Americans, you are probably pretty far from perfect and you may do all kinds of things that have a negative impact on our soceity (no matter how small you may think it is--the shit adds up when multiplied by the 250+ million that live here), but your post makes it sound like we don't have to worry about you becuase you NEVER do anything that could be hurting America. Like most, I know I could do more, but I'm not the one popping off about how others are fucking things up as if I am doing everything right.

How about you quit busting a dead man's balls and focus on how YOU may be affecting this country with the way you choose to live, and the things you may or may not do that could be having a not-so-perfect effect on it.

Ya see, it's like this. While we ALL have freedom of speech in this country, very very few are in a position to be heard or to influence large numbers of people. Before there were forums like this, ordinary people like you and me couldn't spread our views much beyond the very few people we actually talk to in person.

My rant against Russert had to do with his sinister influence--corrupting and poisoning the electorate--getting good normal people with good normal views to consider the possibility of and even vote for politicians who literally would change--that horrible buzz word of the left--this country from the magnificent place it is to a country like Jimmy Carter spoke of--that has to settle for being a second rate power, a country like Barak Obama spoke of where we just can't eat what we want or drive what we want because it might upset the rest of the world, or a country like John Kerry spoke of that falsely labels the valiant troops defending it as murderers, etc.

That is the kind of scum Russert supported. He had this sickly false image of not being the extremist that he really was which allowed him to make some normal people think that these leftists and their policies--which are SO DETRIMENTAL to this country were actually mainstream.

So it's kinda laughable that you think I somehow have any significant influence at all back in the good direction. And as for all the silly crap that you mentioned, WHO CARES? The truth is, maybe a fourth or a third of those things I could actually answer yes to, but not because elitist idiots and government bureaucrats say they are a good idea, but just because I damn well feel like it--just like I don't do the other 2/3 or 3/4 because I damn well don't feel like it--as if any of that crap makes any difference on a macro- level anyway.

I don't see any conservatives running in to support you. Why? You took a personal tragedy and turned it into a political commentary hours after a father, son, and husband died at only 58 at work doing what he believes in..not long after celebrating with his wife and son after the son's college graduation--one of any father's most proud moments, just days before Father's Day.
