why did everyone leave the JSO forum a few years back???

i remember going on hiatus right after the sherman/sharper 4 and 26 debacle and when i came back folks were in the process of leaving the forum...

i remember some bad blood with the likes of moneyguy, the truith, etc and it becoming kinda "cliqueish" according to a few posters. but i thought it was overall a good scene. i noticed the name change but that was well after the "movement" if i recall correctly

anyway, no one's actually given me a direct answer so i thought i'd ask u

where are the likes of upnorthfan, lamboo, tank, akfaust, etc??

He was just useless, problem is instead of ignoring him when he was stupid people would get dragged down to the gutter with him. I don't mind all kinds of views, those posters that cna't put together a coherent though I ignore.

There was a poster that was hacking into the forum, and also seemed to gain personal information about a few people and using that info to harrass them. That was the last straw for most of us. Upnorth let us all use his forum that was more of a Christian themed forum, which everyone used before the creation of Packerrats.

I left and never looked back because there was ZERO moderation. Viking and Bear trolls ran rampant saying and doing what ever they wanted. At the same time if you visted one of thier forums and even mentioned the Packers in a positive light it was Insta-Ban.

JSO degenerated into name calling to the exclusion of discussion.

Way too many posters started their post with "You Fu44ing idiot". There was little substance, only various permutations of "I'm right and you're wrong you idiot!"

The likes of "The Truth" and "Anti Polar Bear" killed JSO.
The bottom line is when you hang around with dysfunctional people, you also become dysfunctional. JSO became dysfunctional.

This about sums it up for me. You could not read a thread without some stupid troll dragging it into the mud. There was no discussion at all.

The whole hacking fiasco was also a big contributer.

I left after getting into an e-mail fight with Mike Davis because he was an incompetent boob and couldn't figure out how to even slow down whoever was fucking with that forum. I happened to cc all his bosses at JSO and his staff too whenever we communicated. I don't think he liked that. After he removed nutz's coyote fellatio picture in my signature, which I was using because nutz was banned at the time, I replaced it with with some quote about Mike Davis ruling with a fluffer's fist. He banned me for real after that.

We were told to be ourselves at the christian encourager website. It took all of three posts before that place was on lock down because I posted a picture of a public lice named tony.

Then these douchebags opened shop. They used to tell us we could do whatever we wanted except post personal info. Then Mad started making up all kinds of rules and retailguy started enforcing them with the deftness of a sledgehammer. Overall, it's still a nice place though.
