  • Obama is an uppity negro

"Just from what little I’ve seen of her and Mr. Obama, Sen. Obama, they're a member of an elitist-class individual that thinks that they're uppity," Westmoreland said.

Hmm..the word uppity doesn't have any connotations in the south does it.

Political consultant David Gergen, who has worked in both Republican and Democratic White Houses, said on ABC’s "This Week" that “As a native of the south, I can tell you, when you see this Charlton Heston ad, 'The One,' that's code for, 'He's uppity, he ought to stay in his place.' Everybody gets that who is from a Southern background.”

In her speech Monday, Clinton, who has never served in the House, told the audience that "when you look at the way the House of Representatives has been run, it has been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talking about."
    ZOMG!!!!!!

Keep trying Tyrone. I have complete faith that eventually you will find some dirt, that you can take out of context that will stick..... right to your face.

      Seeing you desperate is hilarious.

Even O'reilly is calling for him to apologize.

Normally this is all BS, but to call a black dude uppity? Why not just tell him to sit in the back of the bus?

Shouldn't have to tell him to get to the back of the bus...they should already know it!

How hard is it to call a Harvard grad uppity? That's a given...regardless of skin color.

For that matter, everyone in Washington is uppity too...so there are a lot of old white guys who are uppity.
My signature has NUDITY in it...whatcha gonna do?

I think we need to publish a list of words that are never to be used under any circumstances.

How could you, if they are never to be used under any circumstance... oh, hell, what's the use?

I agree with you Ty on the first part (Westmoreland), even if it was a benign, it was not smart on his part....not the second part (Heston).
After lunch the players lounged about the hotel patio watching the surf fling white plumes high against the darkening sky. Clouds were piling up in the west… Vince Lombardi frowned.

Look, people are always going to use the wrong words. It's life. It happens to you too, you know.

Equating those things, in different situations is UNREASONABLE and typical of the BS you've been spewing lately.

Should the guy apologize? Of course. Do these two situations have anything to do with one another? Of course NOT.

Twisting and turning. That's the TY way!

ty wasn't saying he agreed with Gergen. However, ty is willing to give gergen wide lattitude as he served different admins and has lived in the south.
