Really getting sick of all the bullshit

First step to getting things nicer around here is for the mods to start cracking down on people flaming/baiting/ etc... anyone else's post(s)/thread(s) no matter what the content is about, and to start deleting threads before they blow up into a free-for-all. A PMd warning for first time, 1 week ban for second offense, and perma-ban for the third offense is plenty enough to get people to be civil.
I belong and/or have belonged to numerous forums over the past ten+ years, and most (the successful ones) simply don't put up with anyones crap. If we even start to get aggressive we're told to take it to PM's or face banning.

I have a different theory. If someone is being an ass, ignore them. If you let yourself get baited you are a tool. (unless you are enjoying the discourse, then its all good).

It's one thing to attack an opinion. It's a completely other to attack a person. While I will certainly be held guilty of attacking people (skin, nutz, etc), I think it's somewhat different since we've met, know a little bit about the other, and push eachothers buttons deliberately. Taking a shot at Merlin, or CPK without rhyme or reason is ridiculous.

I disagree with the post. Most of us are passionate about our team. If someone puts up a post that is so off the wall they should be called on it. I do. I rarely pay any attention to an avatar , i'll slam any post that I think is wasting my time and someone hasnt put in a little time and effort into research.

I would argue that calling people on facts or even the basis for their assumptions make for better postings. It should be done respectfully, but I know I dont always adhere to that because there seems to be little decorum here from anyone including the mods.
