Kitzbuhel…..reminds me that I never answered your question. No, I am not Franz Klammer. But I have skied down the Hahnenkamm. What a great place to ski. I remember I ended up somehow at a town (looking down the mountain, way to the left); no lifts, no nothing. I didn’t know what to do, so I hung out with some Austrians. They just got on the next city/town bus with the school kids and business people and got off at the base of Kitzbuhel.
I do feel a little like Franz though when I go down Dave Murray at Whistler. I think that’s where there are going to put the Downhill course during the Olympics.
I love skiing in Europe...other than the hordes of horribly dressed skiers you sometimes encounter it is just an amazing place to ski. I'm always amazed where you can find a lift or gondola over there.
Corner of Briquelet and Regal just north of Lambeau Field. This Sunday.
While watching the the sun set over Lake Superior in da UP eh.
While grilling over a maplewood fire in Eagle River.

Well, I flew into Washington DC today and will be here for a few days lobbying politicians. I got hungry a few hours ago and decided to look for a watering hole with good burgers and stuff. There really are not that many restaurants in the DC area. I'm about 7 or 8 blocks from the White House. I did find a place called Stoney's Tavern. Looked worth a try. On the wall their were pics of Goerge Bush Sr, Dubya, Bill Clinton, Sam Donaldson and more. Looked like the quaint place to try. I got the Stoney Brown Ale and a loaded Pastrami sandwich. Pretty good. I like to try places that are not you can't find at home.
The only pub I know of in the city is on 25th and Pennsylvania. If you're looking for Italian, the place on 20th (I think) and M is good. Or go a little further up Pennsylvania and you'll hit Georgetown where they have absolutely everything. If you want the bar scene, try Adams Morgan (try not to get shot).

Go west on M, and as you look down the numbered streets (to your left) it is on the left (west) side of the street a couple doors down from the corner going toward L street. It's kind of a hole in the wall, but those always have the best food. Sorry I can't remember which street. But hurry or you'll miss game time. I hear the Hawk and Dove 329 Pennsylvania Ave SE 202-543-3300 is a good place for Packer fans to watch the games. I'd call first to be sure.
