  • Crazy!

Someone is using my fucking credit card info online. They probably went through the mail since the have the #, name, and address, but don't have the pin.

Pisses me right off having to sort this shit out.

Crazy thing is I do shred. My mom takes care of all of that. She's pretty hardcore with the shredder. I think they took a letter straight out of our mail box, or, there was a security breach at one of the companies I hold stock in, so they may have gotten it that way.

Regardless, the company offered me free credit monitoring so I'm going to sign up for that I guess.

If you think someone got into your mail let the PO know.

i talked to an older lady one time that had a credit card app sent to her house but the mailman put it in her neighbors box by mistake

the neighbor filled out the crap, got the card, and ran up 40,000 worth of credit before the lady even knew what hit her

if someone wants to get you, they will

Same thing happened to me Friday night/Saturday morning. First time ever in my life. Luckily a VISA person called me by 10:00 AM.
After lunch the players lounged about the hotel patio watching the surf fling white plumes high against the darkening sky. Clouds were piling up in the west… Vince Lombardi frowned.

First, you shouldn't be liable, the CC company usually eats everything after $50.

Second, nevermind your mail, I would suspect your roommates first. Usually that is the first place the police will look too. In college, even if your roommates are all cool and get along, there is always a chance of a roomie stealing a CC or ATM card.

I'm not liable. The company refunded the money already. Just some crazy shit. Eye opening to be sure. I had Discover and Visa reissue my cards with different numbers.

Credit Card stuff goes to my Moms house.

It was somebody in some foreign country that requires the 1% internal service charge or whatever. They purchased 100 USD in english pounds in online poker chips.

There is a way to opt out of those credit card offers that come in the mail. You may want to look into that. I don't know the address off hand, but I'm sure that you can easily Google it. When I bought my house several years ago, I couldn't believe the number of pre-approved credit card offers that came in the mail. Not just for cc's, but actual live checks came, where all I had to do is sign and deposit for the loan.

I also opt out of all paper billing for my credit cards, bank statements and any kind of bill possible. Everything comes to me via email.

IMO, your credit info has a much higher chance of being stolen from a paper trail vs. online.
