The very liberal Governor Patterson of New York appointed the replacement for Hillary Clinton in the Senate. She is Kirsten Gillibrand. Ms. Gillibrand supports the Bush tax cuts, has consistently supported the war and the Bush methods of fighting the War on Terror, and has a 100% rating from the NRA. Who could ask for anything more? I am forced to eat my words that there is no hope whatsoever for anything good to go to the Senate from the state of New York.
Yeah, she's saying good things about Pelosi; Yeah, she was supported by Schumer; Yeah, she supports the Hillary/Obama health care plans, but even with all that, I proclaim her a good Democrat.
She's even decent to look at; She has a newborn baby; She reminds me a lot of Sarah Palin--or as close as we could hope for as a Democrat.
And on top of all that, she comes from a strongly Republican district which likely will again become Republican as she goes to the Senate.
If I had thought about it soon enough, I would have titled this thread "Even a blind Democrat finds a winner sometimes".
