      Try football......

After lunch the players lounged about the hotel patio watching the surf fling white plumes high against the darkening sky. Clouds were piling up in the west… Vince Lombardi frowned.

Use a wind-up alarm clock. The ticking will soothe you.

I had a similar thought. My first puppy came with a book that suggested the ticking alarm clock technique for soothing the new pup, and I have seen it suggested in print many times since, though I've never known anyone to actually try it.

I was also going to offer to fly over and snore for Zig, but if we both open our windows she might hear me anyway.

I think this is something that might seriously piss Mrs. Swede off. I actually slept well--maybe from not having to worry about it anymore. But it was a sad day, right from when I woke up and automatically looked over to check on her and realized she wasn't there.

                  • My mom's aunt had a cat taxidermied this one time. I'm not sure if it was because she thought she would miss the cat or because she just thought it was funny. She also lived in an asphalt shingle shed with a wood burning oven as her only heat and poached deer to eat, so I think her situation was probably different than yours.

                    • Are you sure it was taxidermied, or had it been dry-jerked for later consumption?

                        • I have been friends with a German Taxidermist for years....you would be surprised at all the weird pet mounts that he does. No....it's not Susan from Baden Baden....he/she was a Vivisectionist.

You are NOT invited to the next Survivalist meeting if you do that every time someone asks a question about jerking meat!
