Where have you been the past year? The show went dead for quite a few years after Will Ferrell left...but this past year or so the show's been really funny.

I've heard that from a few different people. For some reason though, I just can't get myself to watch it anymore. The jimmy falon/tina fey dealio was what put it over the edge for me.

the show has "gone dead" 20 times during its long run.

I don't think it has ever been all that great, half the skits fall flat. That's just the nature of the beast. People get attached to certain actors, then they think it sucks when their fave leaves. But really, the overall quality stays about the same.

Mad TV has always been funnier than SNL, IMHO.
