It's not like Sheepshead doesn't read at all. He spends hours pouring through back issues of Cat Fancy magazine.

Yup gotta stack of pussy mags right here

I saw it this weekend and I'm not going to lie I thought it sucked. It lasted an eternity. I never read the comic and after reading partial's thoughts I wish I would have first. I can tell that the plot would make an awesome comic but it just didn't flow well for a movie. As expected there were some pretty cool things visually, I can see how someone who was familiar with the comic would enjoy it.

I think you would have liked it a lot more if you read the comic first. It is fairly difficult to follow as a movie without knowing the back stories, I've heard. Even after seeing it, I still think you'd enjoy the comic. Maybe something to do over Spring Break?

I've heard the scene during the credits is worth the cost of admission alone for a lot of 40/50-somethings. Lots of good historical events changed around there. They show you the kennedy assassination, the helicopters flying in like they do in apocalypse now, and many more.

I particularly thought the scene with the girl putting the flower in the barrel of the gun was funny/gruesome. First I laughed, then I clammed up.

A guy on my mac forum made an MP4 of the opening sequence.

It will play in quicktime certainly, possibly VLC. It will play in iTunes if you have that. It's very cool!

edit: HAHAHA how did I miss the snuff scene at 1:55?!? Hilarious!

No comments on a good snuff scene? For shame.

You know, I've given this some more thought. I guess you've never sat down and watched a Batman, Spiderman, or X-men movie before. I guess all those people who made 'The Dark Knight' the second highest grossing movie ever must be super nerdy dudes as well!

Second highest grossing movie ever isnt exactly tough when movie ticket prices just keep going up and up. It's so fucking dumb that studios use this as a point to brag. How about number of tickets sold for a movie?

I liked Batman and hate nerdy movies in general...

Watchmen was horrible IMO ... the plot went all over the place trying to explain everyone's back story and it never went into full on action... all my roommates friends (a bunch of Georgia Tech grads) and myself left looking at each other like "wtf was that all about?"

That might have been because all of us fell asleep at least once (except the one guy who owned the comic book) ...

I could never ever ever ever watch that POS movie again.

Great books. I've been developing my subconscious decision-making ability for a couple years now.

Although it's business/marketing centric, one can learn a lot from "Selling the Invisible" by Harry Beckwith. Really enlightening and a book I suggest as much as possible!

That's what I thought the movie would turn out like. Having multiple good/bad guys worked for X-Men, because their names pretty much summed up their character, which allowed time for pulling just the right amount of backstory out of the more interesting characters.

With this show, I can look at this collection of dorky looking "heroes," read their names, and still not know anything about them other than they need a new tailor. Combine that with all the excitement about pleasing the fanboys, and it screams, "I am an unfocused mess meant to generate revenue through nostalgia and nerdiness!"
