I saw Nora Jones sing a Marvin Gaye song, , "Trouble Man", with just her own piano accompaniment on a late night show (OK, I confess, it was Carson Daly) and it was mesmermizing. Incredibly soulful, she sang it better than MArvin Gaye, which ought to be impossible. She is an amazing talent.
To some extent it was premeditated. I read in an interview where she said she intended to avoid "oversinging" on the album, ala Mariah Carey and the like. She suggested at the time she may have overdone it. I suspect you agree.

Of course, this is her greatest performance... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEzxchU4RUY
      I can't run no more
      With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
      Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
      A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

I like their albums, but kinda dissappointed with concert experience. I think they are sort-of a bar band, they don't project to giant audience.
I like their album Kiko, among others.
I would agree...the shows i saw didn't number more than 500-1000 or so.

I pirated a copy of their album "Homework", listened to it once, was gonna throw it out, but labeled it "Load of Crap" and threw it in a box. I thought it was corny.

Then I gave it another listen a couple years later, guess I was in the mood for a load of crap. So its start to grow on me, and pretty soon I'm playing it over and over in the car. Its a guilty pleasure, like a BeeGees disco album.
The energy and vibe is amazing. You either get it or you dont'. They changed the face of dance music.

Plus, part of it is dancing. If listening doesn't get you moving..then you are missing the point.

          Plus, their shows are amazing.

I love all kinds of electronic dance music. Too bad my heart was too old for the full ecstacy, night on the town. My raves consisted of all-night computer programming sessions with Fat Boy Slim, chemical brothers, basement jaxx, and all the usual suspects.

I didn't say you don't like electronic. I said you either get Daft or you don't. They took the best of house and mixed it with everything bad about French pop.

Those mentioned by you...nowhere near the level of Daft.
