My wife and I took our two children to the Brewers game on Friday night as part of the Firm's family night. It is really great because the seats are right below the children's zone or whatever it is called at Miller Packer, firstbase side, 12 rows up. Real nice.
Of course my night has to have some type of drama, Well like good parents we chase after the kids in the kids area, we are about done but the kids want to sit in the giant baseball glove. My wife starts to take their picture when I notice some strange dude walk over and pulls out his phone. He starts to attempt to take a picture of my kids. I walk right in front of him, and ask him, "why are you taking pictures of my kids?"
He mumbles something, and I say again, "Why the fuck are you taking pictures of my kids?" he then says, "Micheal Jackson, don't you get it?"
I am ready to freak out on this dude, but I don't really want to cause a scene, and scare my kids, but this is just so uncalled for and past creepy. Most likely this dude is just drunk and stupid, but he certainly could be child molester, a pedophile.
More to come later.
So anyways, this scumbag shows me his phone, "See I didn't take a picture." I didn't really give a rip, so I told him again that it is not funny, to go around taking pictures of children that you don't know. He never once apologized to me for his "joke".
I backed off, even though I certainly wanted to let him have it, and it wasn't because he was dumb enough to attempt to take a picture of my kids, but because he thought he was just so funny, and that it was I that had a problem. If he just would have apologized and said it was in bad taste I would have understood a little, I sometimes have bad tasting jokes. But he wouldn't back down, and that pissed me off. I pulled myself away from him, and took my kids back to the play area.
He stayed in the same area for at least ten minutes. My wife then took a picture of him, so she could identify him to a police person. He then tried to confront her. I had both my children, so I again had to stay in control of my emotions, it was tough. finally I just said fuck it, I am going to my seat. My wife found a police officer and showed him the picture, it probably wasn't real good, but he said he would do his best to find him, and remove him from the park.
It is situations like this though, that after the fact you wonder what is really on this guys phone. How many pictures of kids were on his phone? How creepy would it be to find out their is a picture of your kids on the internet, photo shopped? Looking back on the situation we probably should have gotten a police officer earlier while he was still in "conversation" with myself.
It was an messed up situation, one that makes me wonder why I should ever put myself with in the masses again. Next time I will only partake in the suite level.
