Bus Carrying Special Olympics Athletes Flips and Crashes in Wisconsin, Injuring 8

WAUPUN, Wis. — A bus with about 30 adult Special Olympics athletes overturned and crashed in Wisconsin on a return trip from Nebraska, leaving two people with serious injuries.
A Dodge County dispatcher says the bus driver lost control Tuesday about 3:30 a.m. and plowed into a guardrail on Highway 151 just south of Highway 49 near Waupun.
The guardrail prevented the bus from plunging down an embankment, instead pushing it back onto the road where it tipped over.
WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee reports the bus driver and one athlete were in serious condition and six others suffered minor injuries.
Sheriff's Capt. Molly Soblewski says the teams of golfers and softball players were returning from Lincoln, Neb.
The dispatcher says the crash remains under investigation.
