007, Have you read The Help? It's a good read and about to be released as a movie.

Nope. I was serious when I said I haven't been reading like I used to. I bet it's been 3 years since I read a book before I read the one I posted about above. Sad!! Early spring until November is crazy busy at our house but I am going to make it a point to start reading more. It's something I used to enjoy. I'm jotting down notes from this thread for future reference.

        my wife read that

I've read "Favre" and Leroy Butler's autobiagraphy lately....both entertaining
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Its the fact that the writing is very very good.

I am in the middle of the book "The Last Hero". It is a biography about Henry "Don't call him Hank" Aaron. I don't know much about the Milwaukee Braves and not only does it give a nice hand job to Aaron, it is a wonderful historical look at baseball during segregation and also Milwaukee in the early 50s and 60s.

Who is the famous baseball player with the pic with the bat resting on his shoulder and other arm extended pointing out? Can't remember who he said it was but my boy had his pic taken the other day for his last year of little league baseball and the coach told him to pose that way. He said he couldn't keep a straight face .....I'm like, oh great, it's gonna look like u are pointing at someone laughing. Oh well, last year....it's been the "fun" baseball this season a break from the all-serious HS baseball. Can't wait to see the pic.

I don't know of such a famous picture, but it's probably a reference to Babe Ruth's called shot.

I went to a movie last weekend and saw previews for The Help. It looks good. I had my daughter get it on her kindle and I'm going to try to read it this weekend.

That brings about a question. Anyone want to brag on their ereaders? I still like the feel of a book in my hand, but it would likely be nice for travel. My phone would suck for reading on the beach.

You know what is a complete kick in the balls? They are making ONE SHOT into a movie and guess who is going to play Jack Reacher? Reacher is supposed to be 6'5" 250 pounds so think someone half that size and you will come across the one and only Tom Cruise. Fuck Hollywood.

No shit? That's the dumbest idea I ever heard. What a waste of a great story.
