My wife and I go every year for a month or so....I love Waimea. Kona is pretty damn nice....I love Hilo/ North Hilo. I bought 5 acres land (Jungle/Lava) in Puna back in my stoner days for $2000. Rain, rain and more rain.....lol. I have never done anything with it other than plant some trees and such. We'll start to spend more time there in the winter in the next few years........

Parts of California are amazing....just a perfect environment.....but then you add the people and the taxes and things go downhill. I love Maui and the Big Island....there are a few spots on Oahu I could live. The "Island Fever" thing is overblown bullshit....big old Jet Airplanes leave all the fucking time. Hang loose baby.

We were just north of Kona. Made it to Akaka falls and another day just randomly drove north along the coast until we found a dead end sign, then found some cliffs. Didnt make it to the observatory or the active volcano...I will next time.

It's pretty nice living 35 minutes away. Just an epic winter so far.
