Where do you pimps shop and what advice can I get? I already announced that I planned on moving which seems like a natural time to change up my style, move away from the regular boring office stuff that screams "engineer." Shopping for menswear is exhausting, especially if you're like me and hate talking to salespeople. What do you guys look for? I realize that this is any easy question to ask and difficult to answer but hopefully someone can start a discussion here.

I like Lucky. It's not really cutting edge, but the jeans and t shirts are comfortable. The shirts are soft yet strong, and the jeans have the adequate space for my junk without having a droopy ass. The rest I just order from the Backcountry.com stores... http://www.backcountrycorp.com/corpo.../1/stores.html

My more serious clothes I get from Bachrach. I think it's a step up from Men's Warehouse. Other than that, my wife buys my clothes. boden and whatnot. But you probably don't want to take fashion advice from me because I like to dress like a fucking bum most of the time.

      I can't run no more

Oh, this one is easy, buy all your clothes at a fine haberdasher, King Size Big & Tall http://www.kingsizedirect.com/

The quality is mixed, but damn they are cheap.

But Harlan gets to give the big brown box to "the poor" to sleep in. You have to incorporate the social benefit.

I think it depends where you wind up and what kind of firm you find yourself working for. If you come out here and end up at a suit and tie place, you could try Jos. A. Bank. But if you worked in a firm like mine, they'd all look at you funny if you showed up in a suit and tie every day. Even the principals don't do that.

The good news is that depending on your discipline, you could find yourself rather in demand.

Harlan you let me down hard.

Ziggy, I'll likely be a faceless cog working in a monstrous dehumanizing machine of a company. Jos. A. Bank/Banana Republic is about where I'm at now meaning I just learned about clothes that fit. I was hoping some of you old farts knew how to dress me like a badass but this thread looks to be sinking fast.

Then you need a good tailor. You'd have to look one up when you get where you're going. I can tell you of a couple in DC, but that's all I got. Just get a fedora and hope for the best...

Sorry, haven't assisted in dressing a man in a few years. I could help you dress like a badass teen.....but I don't think that is what you are looking for!

.....not that I'm an old fart or anything!

Look, I can't help it if you aren't man enough to fill-out a Big & Tall outfit.

Honestly, I used to be a real clothes horse. Meaning for about for 5 years I shopped like a fiend for cool clothes in larger sizes. I even toyed with idea of starting online store to consolidate fashionable B&T stuff that is otherwise a chore to find.

I am just as tall but not so big these days, and not a spendthrift. Actually, that online store I referenced does have some nice and inexpensive stuff. Don't knock it till you take a look.

Unfortunately I shop at Kohls. I suppose that I have a choice but with all the discounts it is hard not to. I don't recomend it.

Bachrach was the best advice I squeezed out of you guys so far so thank you skin. In the meantime I've also discovered this gem: http://www.shirtsmyway.com/

Go to Thailand. There are great tailors there and it is all pretty reasonable cost wise. Mix in some pussy...great food and it's a grand time. Bathe an elephant if that floats your boat.

Vietnam has great/inexpensive tailors as well.
