UFC Light Heavyweight champ Jon "Bones" Jones was arrested early this morning for DUI after he totaled his Bentley in upstate New York ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Jones was involved in an accident at around 5:00 AM in Binghamton, NY. We're told the car -- which Jones crashed into a pole -- was totaled and cops arrested Jones on the scene for DUI.

According to our sources, Jones was taken into custody by Broome County Sheriff and bailed out a few hours later ... by his mom. Jones is from nearby Ithaca.

People shouldn't get Bentleys. When you total them, it always makes the news.

Jones is getting full of himself. He's on the cusp of superstardom and could well make a fortune for himself as the future face of the UFC.

Mom should ground him for being naughty.

Considering before the Rashad fight he specifically mentioned how appropriate it was for the UFC to sponsor him and make him a figure head of the sport because he doesn't do stupid stuff like getting a DWI

Man, where is the Jon Jones, champion, that everyone expected?

The guy is acting like a phallus. Is it ideal that your opponent gets hurt 9 days before a bout? No, but the show has to go on.

Michael Bisping is dead on, "Jon Jones is never, ever going to live this down. This was a massive mistake. I can't believe this was his decision. If you have ultimate fighter on your business card, you are supposed to show up and fight. And if you are the world champion, you are supposed to have the 'anytime, anywhere, anyhow' attitude."
