  • stupid or insane?

insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result

So are the people that continue to live under sea level in and around new orleans who once again refused to evacuate insane, or are they just really stupid?

I think its time to give the area back to the french or mexicans and let them deal with the dullards

Have you thought maybe they can't afford to leave? Or maybe their job ain't that easy to transfer?

But yeah if you can afford it get the fuck out of there.

I thought this was another Harlan thread.
After lunch the players lounged about the hotel patio watching the surf fling white plumes high against the darkening sky. Clouds were piling up in the west… Vince Lombardi frowned.

        The solution:

        I can't run no more
        With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
        Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
        A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

Insanely stupid. Can't leave is one thing; refused to leave is another. I would need to check my twitter feed, but I believe FEMA had places set up for evacuees to stay. They just had to be able to get there.

most people in the low-lying areas couldn't get loans to rebuild after Katrina, so the problem has mostly been solved.

New Orleans seems like a hurricane magnet. Could be all that sinning.

How exactly is a glass floating city supposed to survive in a hurricane? The only hope is if they can move it and that doesn't look very mobile... come to think of it, how do they avoid baking like a greenhouse?

What about that gay billionaire Peter Thiel's idea? A whole nation.......they could even have Boy Scouts at sea.

Peter Thiel has funnelled $1.25 million to the Seasteading Institute, a California-based organisation that plans to launch a floating colony into international waters, allowing its residents to live by libertarian ideals.
